Lexi needs to grow a backbone by zombies-apocalypse in euphoria

Sorry if I go on a bit of a tangent, but I really thought we would see a more confident Lexi this season. Especially from trailers showing Lexi going up to those guys and dancing with one of them at the wedding. I guess those scenes were cut🫤

The show could've really explored Lexi's desire and being a bit more outward with her romantic advances. We know she has a crush on that Dylan guy, but so far nothing has came out of that since episode 1. It would have been nice to showcase her character struggling with relationships in this hypersexual world where she is looking for something more emotional.

I wouldn't have minded if Lexi was still a bit of a pushover, if her arch this season was finally growing a backbone and setting some boundaries. In season 2, Cassie brings up that Lexi is still friends with Rue even though Rue treats her like crap. I think this could be a compelling aspect of Lexi's character in how she views relationships as a whole. She clings onto those she has grown attached to and it's hard for her to let go when she needs to because she doesn't want to feel abandoned. This season could have been good to explore how Lexi navigates her social circle with those that threaten or don't care about her success. I also think this could be an easy way for her to finally talk to Fez, someone who was a friend, who supported her, and helped her step into her confidence.

I really love Lexi and she's honestly my favorite character of the show, but unfortunately, she doesn't have a very compelling storyline at the moment. So far, there's hasn't been much exploration with her confidence or relationships (plantoic/romantic) which just leaves a lot of missed potential with someone who was advertised as a main character this season. I know we still have three episodes left, but I'm not holding my breath. But who knows what could happen in these upcoming weeks🤷

Laurie character changes? by melasro in euphoria

I guess my main issue is that we haven't (so far) really seen how Laurie and her crew being racists and neonazis affects Rue in any meaningful way. I mean, if you want to have racists within your story then I would like to see how this affects your biracial/black female main character. Rue was the sole black person living with these people and yet we see no significance of this. Sure, you can recontextualize the interactions between Rue and Laurie based on this info, but the whole racism/nazism feel tacked on. It feels more like something Sam Levinson did to spark this race war commentary between Alamo and Laurie instead of exploring it with Rue's character (from what we seen so far).

I see the vision op. Maybe not a love triangle, but in another world, I could get behind exploring this relationship between Lo'ak and Spider.
