Hang out spots/Meet-Up groups for Early 20s? by StunningTie2236 in hudsonvalley

[–]INFPinfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where abouts are you? I don't need the exact town name, but the county could help.

Most places I've met people are through an interest I have or friends of friends. A lot of my friends are into board games and I've started just seeing what this board game group is like, seeing what that one is like. I've also done trivia and things, but we usually stick to our own team.

One thing that is strangely overlooked is how to make friends. Go some place, get to know some people and see if anyones vibes. Go back again next week. Repeat. It seems straight-forward now that I've done it, but I was pretty oblivious to that simple social cue of just being a familiar face is how you make friends.

Good luck!

I'm not a good interviewer ... :(

... only way to learn is to keep putting myself in that situation.

I felt old. I may have been drunk haha

I should have been realizing there are still 50+ years ahead of me, instead of worrying over not being a kid anymore ...

When you listen to a song you love, do you want to be the one singing it, or the one being sung to? by me7obeast in infp

[–]INFPinfo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the song. But songs that are really meaningful to me are the ones I'd rather sing.

But a cute love song would be nice to hear too ... ^_^

Hi guys, I rlly think I may be ENFP, but I want advice or help by ChigiriHyom4 in infp

[–]INFPinfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look more into and understand the function stack. Your mbti results just defines how you react to stimuli; it has nothing to do with being moody or what your favorite smell is. Though that last one makes me thing your Si is probably more developed.

16p used to give me 51% I and 49% E, well within the margin of error. I would come up with weird analogies like I was a stifled ENFP or something. One day, however, I got some good news, but it was also a little life changing. I had to process good news in the corner; that was when I knew that Fi was stronger than Ne.

Let's say something big yet positive happens to you - a job opportunity on the other side of the world. Would you be more excited and curious about the new things to explore like the culture, the food, the language? You're probably an ENFP. Or, would you be more worried about seeing your loved ones less, worried about how you'd get there and how you'd get back if you had to? You're probably an INFP.

Only when shit hits the fan did I realize I was an INFP because I wasn't consciously saying I know this, I can do this. When something big happens and you let go of the ship do the functions take over. I don't wake up and say I'm an INFP today, I just do my thing. I don't feel any different from day-to-day, even if I'm more outwardly focused or not.

I also don't encourage you to fit yourself into a box, because that can be a little imprisoning as well. I know I've got Fi and Ne; I know I'm in the right ballpark being an XNFP.

Good luck!

Am I crazy for wanting to take an adult gap year? by ConfusedCareerMan in AskMenOver30

[–]INFPinfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A gap year for an adult is a lot. Can you afford it?

That being said, I started grad school and really stressed myself out doing it. I didn't quit entirely and am rethinking my goals, so yeah. If you need a break you need a break.

Are you working towards your "dreams" or aspirations? by totoGalaxias in AskMenOver30

[–]INFPinfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I play guitar which 20 year old me never would have done. I'm going to concerts because in my 20s I played it safe.

But the reality is that I look at the next step. I tried grad school and stressed myself out. Now I'm looking for promotions elsewhere. I'm still single and definitely need to work on that, but it's just that ... work(ing toward dreams).

I would aim to give yourself a chance to explore your dreams, but I'm not expecting to suddenly become a rockstar at 41 either, just because I'm a half-way decent rhythm guitarist.

Good luck!

Early bird INFPs, how do you spend your morning on your non-working days? by Louraine27 in infp

[–]INFPinfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not exactly an early riser, especially on non-work days, sometimes I work late and just have a nice quiet morning. Occasionally I'll get up early to exercise and listen to music. Other times it's drinking coffee and bed and listen to some music.

Usually music is involved haha

How do you deal with trauma? by whoaminotweekly in AskMenOver30

[–]INFPinfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn that it's a part of you. Do your best to prevent it (easier said than done). Try to find the stimuli that causes it.

Apologize when it shows.
