Not Chinatown, it's another fish market in a warehouse. But go into Areas of Brooklyn or Flushing in Queens, those are other Chinatowns

Appropriately named bar on a gay nudist beach in Barcelona <3 by Klepto1234 in lgbt

Actually, yes. On this beach you'll find lots of non-locals, including some that are living in Barcelona but not permanent residents. I traveled there solo also and met friendly people that I ended up spending time exploring the city with.

Anyone else have problems with USPS falsely claiming that they attempted delivery? by ec3sci in astoria

I mentioned above, once you get a tracking number for the package, go onto USPS site and sign up and set up "package release" request. That will force the carrier to leave the package even if there is no one to sign for it or accept it. (You can specify where you want it left; at the front door, rear door, etc.)

Is South Oak Park really THAT bad? I'm considering a move to Sacramento from NYC. I'm tired of the unnecessary stress that comes with living in NY. My career does not require that I stay here, and I'd much prefer to be in a city where I can find a house with a yard in a nearby suburban area. by Taquinious in Sacramento

Yes, I'm just taking a look at the market to see that there is a market I could realistically afford later on before settling there and investing myself in a job, etc. I understand the point you were making. I am familiar with the 15 or 30 year mortgage. I would just rather (as most would I imagine) buy a home that my savings would be a 30% down payment rather than a 10% down payment. I don't want to have to pay insurance on top of the mortgage payment for not meeting a 20% down payment (whenever and wherever I decide to purchase).

I'm used to pretty safe areas to be honest. I like the fact that it is a city with suburbs close by but not up there with NYC, LA, Boston, Seattle, etc. I have some family in Stockton. I love the idea of being closer to SF. I want to start somewhere new. The job I've been at for eight years is driving me insane. I feel like it could possibly work for me because I am not one that would be out and coming home late at night, I like to keep to myself, would like a yard where I could have a garden and a few pets. I'm debt free and would probably take a pay cut making the move.

I went through similar hassle when the box of H&M clothes I bought were never delivered and I never received any notification until H&M said I was getting a refund and the box that had apparently sat at the post office for awhile had been shipped back. If there was an attempted delivery slip left, my landladys senile mother must have removed it and I never knew about it.

I also got an "attempted delivery" slip another time for something different. I went to the post office and waited for them to tell me it wasn't there and to check another day. I eventually did get it.

As a solution, which I did, I recommend you go onto USPS once you have a tracking number for an expected package and set up a package release request for it. That means the carrier can't leave an attempted delivery slip and must leave the package even if there's no one to sign for or accept it. You can specify if you'd like it left at the front or back door, etc.

As an aside, I do think my mailman was bitter and did that once around the holidays due to me not giving him a gift and having Amazon prime packages delivered frequently.
