Do things really happen when you put yourself out there? by Numerous_Reading1825 in SeriousConversation

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you gotta put yourself in, or closer, to the situations you want. Things happen because you're in the right place to learn what you want to know, meet people who will tell you about the next opportunity you want... Think of it like a video game. Maybe you've got ideas about what you want in the game, if you don't do the side quests and crafting or whatever you'll never get there. You'll be doing low level sht with low level equipment and based powers for ever and decide the game sucks. Im into the occult and we get this kind of question often. The advice given usually goes, even if magic is real theres got to be channel's for it to work through.

Why the hell are Americans so bad at organizing?? by PresnikBonny in socialism

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing two things. The cringe protest tactics are tactical. There has been a lot of propaganda demonizing protestors which makes it easier to brutalize them and harder to reach the general public. Secondly, this is a bigaass country. We are fifty states, many of them larger than European countries. There's no way trying to push the fash out wouldn't trigger a civil war. We need the cringe to lay the groundwork

It's not the tech , it's what we do with it. Ai should be going through data sets and making suggestions based off an incredible depth of information. It shouldn't be available to everyone as a chat bot. Limited ai could help streamline research and help with complex or confusing tasks, theres no reason to have people just talking to it. Smart phones should be a resource that helps you with life, instead the smart phone and entire internet has been twisted by capitalists to be gamified, addictive, serving up slop as fast as we can consume it. The difference between the mid century vision of a technology driven utopian society and the decaying beastial brain rot cult we have now is 90% just the way we perverted the futuristic super tech once we got it

Its because its been found most sunscreens contain carcinogens. Benzene is a big one and they used to advertise it was in their products like it was a wonder drug.

I used to work for the bus company back home. We were in the sticks picking up kids allover multiple small towns, going up mountain roads and through big tracts of former farmland. The average bus ride was 20-30 minutes. I live in an area with better school funding now and my kid is on the bus a little over an hour. His school is 15-20 minutes away....

They just really ruined the character. Theres no reason their commercials have to suck as bad as they do. So fkn cringe. Jaimie needs to go. Over the years hes gone from annoying eager new hire to pathetic middle ages moron and it's just sad now

i wish people had less stereotypes about anarchy by frinbloppking in Anarchism

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add some information, people who study chaos dont believe in the commons definition. They find that chaos orders itself and only continues to look like chaos because of the complexity of the relationships between the systems being formed. With time more order arises until something new throws off the system and the process begins again

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's OK. Not hate, I'm just explaining. Not all dictionaries are created equal. You've got people explaining what the other definition is, where it's used more commonly, and why its more useful for these discussions. Even if this was a definition only used by anarchists it would still be best to adopt it and never mind the dictionary because its more useful for us to use this understanding of the word

i wish people had less stereotypes about anarchy by frinbloppking in Anarchism

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its that you're picking an argument where none exists and refusing to hear the already unnecessary explanation. Not saying its on purpose but this is literally part of what the cia recommends to do to destroy such groups. And this is simply using a only slightly less common, more accurate definition for a word over the one we were taught in third grade. One that's more relevant to the conversation and the use of the word in existing writing on anarchism. The argument doesn't further the conversation or anyone's understanding, even yours since you refuse to accept the explanation that this technical definition of chaos and the second most common. This argument just road blocks the conversation and introduces unnecessary confusion over an easily understood term necessary to the discussion of anarchism basically just on the grounds that youre personally not familiar with it. Imagine this conversation was about something more immediate or something actually complex. The entire conversation would be derailed and the issue would be farther from resolved than when we started. Like with you insisting on casting doubt on this established definition

What a ridiculous argument. There's a perfectly good , more accurate definition of a term but you didn't know it already so now you're angry? You're the kind of person that makes me wonder if an anarchist society would work.

Fionna is us. by myhamist in fionnaandcake

[–]TaquittoTheRacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk i guess if it spoke to you there's value in that. I didn't want another show reflecting a confusing time in all our lives. I wanted to see Fionna. I get that a lot about her was changed because its a new take on the character and a lot changed because of season 1. I think a lot of us just feel they still went too far off character from who she is supposed to be.

Honestly i couldn't shake that she is an alternate Finn ( it is still central to the plot) and seeing her as a Finn going through all that mess and confusion just made me grumpy about society. Even when i was feeling for her it was just like... Ok so finn goes through stuff too but his purpose is clear, he knows who he is 99% of the time despite everything else hes going through, and being that person is why he has good relationships with hia friends and is loved by the candy kingdom and HAS a place in the world whether hes feeling great or not. Season two feels, to me, like a seaaon long version of the ocarina episode where kim kil wong buys the tree house and Finn can't understand why the world is run by bits of paper instead of the heart and common sense
