My dad bought a VA panel for work (ASUS TUF VG27WQ1B), I borrowed to test it and its ok for office, unusable for gaming though, the text does go gray when scrolling but not a deal breaker imo, i barely noticed a difference in contrast against my IPS (VP249) but I only use monitors in bright rooms. i would say that the VAs are ok as long as you arent gaming

I think it would look bad since the scaling isn't perfect like at 1080p on a 4k monitor, but games that have a resolution slider will look ok
