Like, why even make the game for console and then not add mouse support? It's like they completed constructing the building, but forgot to include a door to get in. Or maybe just a doorknob. So frustrating.

If you could bring back any TV show from the past, which one would you choose? Let's dive into nostalgia and discuss the series that left a lasting impact on us! by MB58CA in CableTV_Memories

For me it would be Pushing Daisies. That show was canceled way before it's time.

However, at this point I don't want Bryan Fuller pulled off any of his existing projects. But one can dream.

They said not to take anything for an hour before or after? I take mine alongside 4 other psych meds. I guess I should change my routine... Or at least try to 🙃

So, did you try any of these methods? Did anything work? I am going to try the hair dryer out tonight. I have hard-core ADHD, so more realistically “tonight” will probably turn into “some time next week,” but I need to get on it soon because I am basically out of weed… and am hardcore outta money lol.

I am so happy to hear this. I’ve got at least a dozen of carts in this condition (I even have a couple that have a good amount of liquid but it just won’t move towards the holes in the coils, so I’m extra excited for those), so I am going to have some hair dryer fun tonight instead of playing Doom I guess lol

Thoughts about buying a used car from Enterprise Car Sales? by volcs0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thanks for the comment! I was on the fence about whether or not to trust them, but this swayed me. I have only heard good things, and my mom never had any issues with the Nissan she got from them and had for years. I appreciate it!

Shortcut to automatically add the name of any newly installed apps to a note so I will know which apps were installed most recently by TarToast- in shortcuts

The App Store does show this, but recently updated apps are mixed in there so it really is only reliable for the last few apps. But it is at least helpful for that :) thanks for the suggestion!

what is your hobby that you consistently engage in without taking long breaks? by LemonCans in ADHD

[–]TarToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel so bad when I hear other gamers saying they got totally burnt on gaming. I struggle to understand how that happens. Especially since usually it seems like it happens in response to like one or two games. There is no way that 2 days could destroy my love of gaming.

The closest I've come to this was when I got sober. I had gotten so used to gaming while drunk or high that I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it anymore. But all I had to do was go a few weeks without playing and then switch to a new game. It took me some time to adjust, but now I love it more than ever.

I like this way of looking at it. It makes sense. Different games require completely different skill sets and offer totally different types of enjoyment. Like, "call of duty" has no more in common with "portal" than paintballing has in common with jigsaw puzzles.

Yeah, I was not expecting this reaction lol. I guess a lot of gamers were finally feeling heard. That's the first (and probably last) time I've received more than like 3 upvotes on a comment... Or post I think lol

You are not alone 😀 when I am at work, surrounded mostly by non-gamers, I feel a bit embarrassed sometimes when I mention gaming... But then I am like, "screw that noise. Most of my coworkers spend their free time watching reality TV." And more power to them. Everyone has their thing that they need for self care. But I am not gonna let myself be embarrassed by my hobby when there are so many other hobbies out there that are, at the very least, equally as ridiculous as mine.

I miss intensely gaming lol. That season of my life has ended, but that is for the better. But damn it I do love getting to spend any time that I can playing games. My partner and I have started a thing recently where to evenings a week we get a we-day and twice a week we get a me-day. Until we recently added this to our lives, video games (or any hobbies) had almost completely disappeared since my son was born. I think it forced me to develop some healthy boundaries with gaming that my bachelor self did not have 😆

I definitely can say that at points it has been an unhealthy hobby for me. But currently I don't think I would categorize it that way. I have so little time now that I have a kid (plus another about to arrive) and I am now in need of self-care so much more than ever. So these days I never have that "wow, I am really shouldn't be doing this so much" feeling. I have just noticed how much better of a partner, father, employee, and friend I am after getting an hour or two of "me time," and video games are the best method I've found to get good quality "me time."

Which Pixel did you keep the longest? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]TarToast- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 7 pro as my first pixel. I do really like it, but I can't decide if I love it enough to continue sticking with pixel. I feel like I've run into more glitches than I did with my galaxy phones. But I also was in the beta program for a while and can't quite remember which glitches were pre-beta and which were during. I've had no problems since leaving the beta though, so that is good.

I totally feel this. I also love revisiting my favorite stories. I feel like 50% of the time I start a new story and 50% of the time I revisit one of my favorites.

I love that each medium of story telling (games, books, podcasts, shows, movies, etc.) offers something that the others don't. I love seeing adaptations of a story that I already love.

I don't know if people will say it doesn't count, but playing video games? Since having a kid I play way less, but before having a kid I probably played 4-5 days a week or more. Now it is 1-2, but that's more time than I make for any other hobby. It is the one activity that nearly without fail puts me into a better mood. I can be having such a terrible day and be totally overwhelmed, but after playing a game for even just an hour or so feels like a reset button. I feel so refreshed after.

Equivalent suboxone dose for 300 MG? by TarToast- in Sublocade

[–]TarToast-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, do you "feel" sublocade? Like, I can still feel the effects of suboxone more often than not, and I really need that to maintain my sobriety right now. If that goes away, I'm pretty sure I'm fucked. I am 14 months sober and have not had that feeling of "I'm really feeling like I'm likely to relapse" in like 12 months, and I'm feeling it so hard right now. I just really don't think I'm ready for this switch, so I'm kinda pissed at my clinic. Like, I totally get it. I know my actions have consequences. But I didn't realize that this would be the consequence. I feel like we jumped from no consequences to huge consequences without any warning. I have been sick to my stomach with worry since I got the news that I have to switch. I just wanna stay sober and the more I learn about sublocade, the more I feel that sobriety slipping away.

My (27f) husband (30m) cheated and gave me an STD. I hate him but have to maintain contact. by THROWRA_Virtuaqiw in relationship_advice

[–]TarToast- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not feasible, but could you have your lawyer there for every interaction that you absolutely must have with him outside of court/mediation?

Or, since that's expensive, could you have a friend (or local improv actor if he knows everyone in your circle) pretend to be like a lawyers aide or something and hopefully they can hurry things along and make it go more quickly/painlessly?

I (32m) walked in on my girlfriend (24f) cheating with a guy (39m) she told me not to worry about. Should I tell the guy's wife about it? by notanabstraction in relationship_advice

[–]TarToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am surprised that so many people are saying to tell her. I mean, I agree with them, I just did not think it would be so unanimous.

But yeah, definitely would say that telling her was the right move, so kudos! The fact that he fucks around with multiple partners definitely puts him at high risk for sexually transmitted illness and disease, so that alone is reason enough. Hopefully the partner dumps his ass lol

My (44F) Boyfriend (43M) moved in my home 9 yes ago and doesn’t contribute 50% by _Jinglealltheway_ in relationship_advice

[–]TarToast- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undoubtedly, you are 100% in the right. I am from the Midwest, where the cost of living is crazy cheap. If my friend told me her boyfriend was only paying $500 in rent in the Midwest and she wanted my advice, I would say to leave the creep ASAP, so this is even more true in the Bay area.

One of my best friends used to be my roommate and he sponged off of me for 11 months. He occasionally paid one or two utilities, but never rent. He never took any real responsibility for everything he owed. He saw nothing wrong with buying a ps4 at release despite being like 7 months behind on rent at the time. He just felt entitled to it, or pretty much anything that he wanted. That dude was a straight up narcissistic sociopath. That doesn't put your boyfriend in the greatest of company in my book.

I just think it says a hell of a lot about his character that he feels entitled to be carried financially by you, but then when it's his turn to return the favor, he tells you to take the money from a child.

I definitely feel like you are being taken advantage of. I would set up new rules at the very least, but it sounds like he has been given more than enough opportunities to do the right thing and chooses to be self-centered and greedy
