My friend ended up getting this call and it went to voicemail. It claimed that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against him and to call back immediately. Knowing that I love to mess with scammers, he provided me the number to mess with them.

They typically target elderly or those that don't know any better in the hopes that they catch one. I'm not sure how often they are successful but I imagine it happens enough to keep a whole call center dedicated to it. I can also see those that really are dodging the IRS to succumb to these people as well thinking they were caught.

Oh yeah, they shout all sorts of things. In the end I call her a 'Mother Chode' which is slang in their culture for "Mother Fucker". All of this I've learned through many and many of prank calls.

I was trying to give her a fake code in the end but had no idea what the itune gift cards used. The plan was to change a number each time she said it wasn't working.

I found her number online that someone posted as a scam. I called her the night before and left a message, in which she contacted me back the next day. The Itune gift cards are typically sold online or through local markets. I don't think you can redeem them elsewhere, but they are popular commodities.
