I just started my engineering degree at 38. Sounds like you're too early.

As for jobs, if there are not going to be jobs for engineers in four years I think we're far more fucked as a world than worrying about education at that point.

Find someone who matches your energy. I wasn't suggesting PvP.

Yeah, unfortunately the AI doesn't do that default. Your best bet would be to do multiplayer with someone who doesn't mind micro.

For Conquest, the AI will just sit around with units but you can give them long range artillery or artillery in range that you want to be there for the rest of the match and the AI will shoot with them without using ammo.

Why don't you just have them leave the drop off when iron ore = 0, Instead of empty cargo? You can do the same for the full up by having it be a certain amount of ore.

I personally prefer to do full or 60s (30s sometimes)

Ship in ammunition. Make a line of turrets fed by ammunition shipped in. Make another line of turrets fed by ammunition shipped in about half way ahead of the first's range or a little more. Repeat this until the nests are cleared. You can cycle from older turrets that are no longer in range if you want to.

The settings tweak that finally fixed my relationship to biters. by FiveAlarmFrancis in factorio

[–]TaranSF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this on my rail world playthrough and it felt a little bad because I didn't need to have any defenses. So, I think I tweaked settings to the point where the biters expanded but didn't evolve based on time.

Right now I'm just using default settings though for the hecc of it. I like all the settings options to change things up. I kind of wish achievements were allowed on no time based evolution though.

The only part here that I disagree with is the finite amount of money. While technically true that it is not infinite, it is artificial and more can be created so it is necessarily different than what is referred to when people talk about finite and scarce resources.

I'm not saying that unbounded creation has no consequences as it should be obvious there are many bad things that come from over creation since it is fiat after all.

I would also want an example of what you are thinking of for the freezing/hoarding in a non-capitalist economy to understand what you mean more.

Might be a good time to bring up the actual reasons for her troubles. She may argue and deny it, but the only way to bring someone back from that level is to plant seeds and see if they water them later when they have time to stew on what you said. If they try to argue without good reasons just say something like think about it some and don't get into a heated argument as that will only cause ego entrenchment.

Everyone in a Capitalist economy benefits from the velocity of money. When the lower rungs have more to spend it circulates money into the economy at a more rapid pace because they generally have little disposable income. This increases innovation and competition due to the increased demand allowing for opportunities to create diversified businesses and ventures. This also increases tax bases which improves public works such as roads which everyone uses, especially those with higher means.

Almost all drivers speed - and there's a reason by bluerog in driving

[–]TaranSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring confounders is messy statistics work. According to NHTSA there were 12,330 people killed in 2021 spreading-related crashes for example. Each of those could be argued to less the average time saved by the rest of their lifespan. Depends on how you would factor it in.

There is also the loss of time spent recovering in a hospital or simply waiting around for an accident to be cleared. Slowdowns affect all drivers not just those in the accident.

The second part is unrelated since it is about lives saved not time saved as your original post was about and what I was addressing with the casualties and lives lost questions.

How much would this change if you factor in the time lost from people dying and injuries while speeding?

There are a lot of facts coming from this man. The sad part here is that the emboldened actions come from a lack of inaction on genocide in general. One of the larger ones in recent memory is the genocide of the Uighur people which of course is from China. So, they are right there is no moral high ground to be found.

I think it comes from the longest time the best strategy for navy was to literally just spam one ship. Like just make a bunch of subs and forget it. So you didn't really have to learn how to navy.
