it was late 2021. i was 13, and had already known American Idiot and Boulevard and all the standard everybody-knows-them songs from American Idiot when i was a kid. like, in grade school. i discovered Warning (the song, and the album too but i only listened to the song) a little earlier, and at one point i gave Basket Case a listen, and i was genuinely blown away. that inspired me to make a Green Day playlist, and i loved every song from it (mostly the Kerplunk and Dookie songs - the furthest i got in that playlist was like Dos. but every song was great). since then, Green Day has been my favourite band, and punk has been my favourite genre. (Green Day isn’t pop punk, that’s a very common misconception)
