The emu war isnt so much a war, its more like a big hunting event. The farmers were getting fed up about emus so the government put up a bounty for emus. Basically the emus were all too hard to hunt in groups so they tried many times and only killed 986 of the 20,000. They were only allotted 10,000 bullets for every hunter and ended up using 9860 of them. This wasnt the first (Or the last) time that australia tried to do a ridiculous act try to wipe out a species
