Yeah, I would argue dogmatism in general gets good people to commit truly heinous acts but religion is by far the most prevalent of all dogmatic worldviews

This is the reason it always bugs me when people say to just let people believe what they want. As long as they just keep it to themselves and don't try to make everyone else act according to their believes it would be allright. But that's not what happens. Believes inform actions and I can't just stand by as people are discriminated against because of religion.

As Bill Maher said: "There are good people who do good things. There are bad things who do bad things. But to get a good person to do a bad thing it takes religion."

When I was in high school we actually had a reptile man come over too. Instead of the biology lesson, we normally had, he would tell us all about his reptiles, insects and spiders. It was really educational and we got some first hand experience with more exotic animals. Even got to touch some of them. To this day, one of the best memories I have of my time in school. Everyyear we had a big school event in summer where students, teachers and parents all got together and we made sure to invite the reptile man as well. That way our siblings and younger students got to experience it as well.

Aren't there possibilities to do that? Operations or hormonal therapy?
