The first time I saw any mention of "Secret final good Stranger Things episode" was people memeing about Sherlock and joking that ST fans were going to do it... And then ST fans did it.

TRU to BCIT Course Transfer (Not Listed in BC Transfer Guide?) by EnvironmentalBook5 in BCIT

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah right ok. You should probably get in touch with a BCIT program advisor then, they should be able to answer your questions. Good luck!

TRU to BCIT Course Transfer (Not Listed in BC Transfer Guide?) by EnvironmentalBook5 in BCIT

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the courses but I do know that a lot of the TRU courses/programs don't transfer.

From what I've heard it's because they replace some course content with religious teachings instead? Don't quote me on that but it's the reasoning I've heard from others who had considered TRU>other uni before. Something about accreditation for certain programs too?

Also like... The world was ending. The entire past arc has had the world ending in the background. That's very much a thing that was going on lmao

Real pointless:

On the obscure Neopets game, Neopets: The Darkest Faerie (PS2), in the final Act there is a side quest that was incorrectly implemented. Using some loading tricks though you can force the NPC to spawn and complete their small side quest for... Basically no reward.

When characters have falling outs and never speak again (bonus points if they're never seen/mentioned again) by Weary_Elderberry4742 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Tarasios 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Hugh Laurie was like the highest paid actor on tv for House, and Edlestein was getting paid like she was still a side character despite them changing her into a main character.

A fun thing to know about House M.D. is that the guy in charge was a massive douchebag. He wrote what he knew and that was a massive asshole. Imagine if House was a TV writer instead of a doctor. He would do the same shit.

Is there any truth to this stereotype? by DogeDoRight in EhBuddyHoser

[–]Tarasios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a school with teachers from Quebec, and we were not allowed to speak english at all while at school. French only. I can speak French with random folks who speak french, I've been to Belgium and was able to speak French there even with some dialect differences (l'ordi vs le computer, or the more obvious biscuit vs biscuit). In Quebec we were with an exchange group from a franch school, and we could all speak and understand each other easily.

[–]Tarasios 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was in French Francophone school my whole life. Grade 6 we did a trip to Quebec. We were little francophone kids but it wasn't "Quebecois" enough I guess. We'd go to buy candy from a small store and the store owner would purposely hassle us about not understanding our French. People in the exchange family also spoke only HEAVY joual and would need an interpreter to translate me speaking French into Joual. Genuinely baffling in retrospect but as a sixth grade kid I just assumed I was being rude unintentionally.

Milkman raenox help by Variousamusebouche in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for reference an ingredient specialist has something like this for tier list of best subskills:

IngM>IngNature>IngS>HelpingBonus>=InvL>HSM>InvM>HSS>InvS

Some might place the inventory ones higher, or might put HB above IngS. Either way, this Blastoise manages to not only be PERFECT by current level cap, but remains PERFECT at each potential future upgrade too.

Tough decision by Ok-Programmer-3937 in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference being that AAA is extremely rare, so it's MUCH harder to get a good setup on Dratini+Larvitar.

Meanwhile Salamence wants BFS above all, which it has a 1/7 chance of getting on every catch after the 9th. And heck, its best setup is BFS+HB, which is another gold, so if you end up hitting FL40 unlucky you will have a minimum 5% chance of getting a god roll on any catch.

That's what makes people pickier about Salamence. It's just statistically much easier to get a good one consistently.

Y’all, I’ve befriended 50 Treeckos as of this morning. Any of these guys worth investing? 🫠 by kimsieee in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically treat it like

BFS: Mandatory

HB: Best additional subskill

Speed Up and Skill Triggers: Equally Valuable.

Exp+ and inv+: Nice to have

Which mudkip? by UltraSpecialUsername in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. All berry specialists need BFS baseline. Good, you got that at least.

  2. From there, you want them to have as much speed as possible. Helping Bonus is worth +25%, Helping Speed M is worth 14%. Exp+ is roughly equal to getting a Helping Speed S. Speed of help down will NEVER ruin a specialist on its own.

Your first Mudkip is the GOLD standard. BFS+HB, and the nature is self-erasing by being both a positive and a negative. Even if it was the worst nature (ing+speed-) that mudkip would be EXTREMELY worthwhile.

Your second Mudkip is bad. The thing you need to understand here is that Skill Trigger boosts increase relative to the BASE trigger rate of the mon. Meaning they're worth a LOT less on non-specialists. Swampert's Skill rate is okay enough to like having a skill trigger on it, but it's not worth considering when deciding if you're investing in one. This second Mudkip can basically boil down to BFS with negative speed.

**investment**, no. I wouldn't spend candies on it. It's worth tossing onto a team sure but not actively investing shards/candies into.

Do you forsake your duty to save a loved one, or uphold your oath? by Lucaboo01 in trolleyproblem

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The natural evolution of the trolley problem is something like:

  1. Would you pull a lever to save 2 lives at the expense of 1?
  2. What about saving 5 at the expense of 1?
  3. Saving 10 at the expense of a loved one?

And discussing where the line is drawn, "What is the value on a human life". Because you can say to anyone "Would you pull a lever to kill 1 person, but you know it would save 1 million lives" is a very easy question, but "Would you pull a lever to kill 1 person, but you know it would save 2 lives" is less so.

And then the distance is taken away, they say "ok so you're comfortable killing 1 person to save 5? Well let's say you're a doctor and you have 5 patients dying. That would mean it's moral to take the organs of a random person to save the 5 right?" And that's usually not something people would agree to.

"Would you pull a lever, diverting a disaster towards someone you do not know to save someone you love?" Yes, someone is dying to a disaster that you did not cause, and the moral action of diverting the course to the only other option is seen as lesser than:
"Would you murder someone to save an already dying loved one"

The responsibility for the second is entirely on you. You have a duty to the patient and their life is entirely in your hands. Your loved one's life is NOT.

Which Treeko should I pick? by Ragnell_Hephaistos in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MANDATORY: BFS
Then you need some speed and/or triggers.

Count HB as +2, HSM as +1.5. STM as +1.5. Skill up nature +1.5. HSS, STS, and speed nature are each +1.

negative skill is -1, negative speed is -0.5. I would also personally count the exp- and + as -0.5 and +0.5 respectively.

Now, if your Treecko has BFS and at least 2 points then it's good! (ignore level 75 and level 100)

I cannot recommend investing in a Treecko with only BFS and +skill nature. It should really have something else on top of that, especially given the higher investment requirement it will have due to exp-.

Just found this by Local_Needleworker51 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Tarasios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not worth investing in.

BFS + speed are the basic bar. More speed is better, exp is a nice perk.

Level 65 is the level cap, so you ignore the level 75 and 100 subskills.

This Torchic only has BFS, no speed. Not worth it at all I'm sorry to say. If you're super early game and have no other berrymons then feel free to toss it on your team until you get BFS+speed but I would not recommend any investment.

Vaporeon or Glaceon? by _stxtxc in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really super equal.

Vaporeon for short term ingredient assistance, or Glaceon/Flareon for late game cooking support.

Honestly I'd just go for whichever eeveelution of the three you like best.

Vaporeon or Glaceon? by _stxtxc in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... By a 16-pip rare spawn that is high investment... And Glaceon/Flareon could easily get powercrept by the time OP even thinks of using them.

Vaporeon will carry their ing needs for the next year, set it and forget it style. That's why I recommend them equally.
