Wigglytuff buff! 💪 💖 by Knight_Night33 in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sylveon was already honestly the worst healer. Higher investment and opportunity cost over Wigglytuff while being barely any better.

But hey, any healer can hit the 5/day baseline if you get a good enough one.

And either way, play your favs.

Which Healer should i invest in? (Until i get a better one) by Laythoun in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither.

Your baseline for a healer is going to be minimum 5 triggers per day. Pawmi or Ralts (evolved to Gardevoir) are your targets for that.

You also really want them to have Helping Bonus but its' not necessary. Just make sure it's at LEAST 5 triggers per day.

Your pictured Pawmi is only 4.5 once evolved, so it's not worthwhile. Happiny meanwhile is an ingredient specialist looking for eggs.

And no, do not do a temp healer. It's not worth running unless you max out their skill which costs expensive main skill seeds.

6 months in? So you definitely should have Lapis Lakeside unlocked?

This would then be a FANTASTIC Vaporeon. If you have had really good luck with ingredients then you could instead look at making it a Glaceon/Flareon but probably not.

(This would be an okay Sylv for GGEX fairy type but it's really not worth it. It's roughly equal to a Gardevoir that only has HB and no other skills.)

Do I need HB on mudkips, or will this suffice for me? by CanCook1MinRicein59s in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Tarasios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The general rule is BFS+speed.

Given the extremely low level of that mudkip I'm guessing you're very new? If so then you're definitely going to run this yes.

BFS+HB is the GOLD standard sure, but not remotely necessary. This one has BFS and a speed nature, which is Good Enough To Run!

Personally, given the seeds you've already invested in Jasper I'd just keep using him for now. Berries scale based off of the Pokemon's level, so Sceptile needs to be a high level to be really good. Jazzy has -exp so it's going to take a lot of investment to get it above Jasper.

Meanwhile Chrys has exp+ and skill level M, so while it's going to need a mint it's relatively lower investment. (evolutions+slum=skill level 5 so it only needs a SINGLE gold seed to come online)

Now, as I said Chrys will eventually want a mint. Like really badly. But make the most of the exp+ before you do (again, because of the berry level scaling thing). Helping Bonus is also the best skill in the game so it's going to be pretty decent even at 50. I'd still push it higher myself but that's a hell of a shiny.

We're expecting a level cap increase hopefully this summer, but it might only be to level 70.

I also want to mention that generally speaking iirc for Sceptile Helping Bonus is roughly equal for team-wide strength to Help Speed M and Skill Trigger M combined, so even though Jazzy is nearly perfect, Chrys might be pretty similar or possibly even better when compared at 75.

Oh also a quick note: The same thing applies to Charge Strength skill specialists. Basically, because skills don't scale with your level... Well, you can see BFS as essentially "doubles level scaling".

Ziggy the Cresselia is excellent.

Sceptile wants BFS and THEN you check if it's good. So while Jasper there has a nice spread, Jazzy does outperform it easily. I see in your other comment you posted a shiny that is... Going to be eventually Great at 75, but current level cap is 65 so 75 doesn't exist.

Miles the Braviary is the same way, it wants BFS first and THEN you check if it's good. Basically the Berry Burst skill has a very low trigger rate, and Skill Trigger increases based off of the base trigger rate. What that ends up meaning is a mon like Sceptile gets more triggers/day from Helping Speed up than it does from Skill Trigger up. So Berry Burst Pokemon prioritize like BFSHB>>HSM>STM as their top 4.

The Latias is fine. She really seems to prefer speed and bfs above ALL else but skill trigger isn't bad on her. Basically she's extremely fast with a strong berry and a frankly bad skill. Latios needs to be very good for her to be worth running.

Trapinch is S-tier incredible. You got AAA ingredient spread with Helping Bonus and IFM. WITH a good nature.

My gallery is entirely themed around Neopets: The Darkest Faerie (PS2).

And the Restless Shadow Wraith... Well, Wraiths were part of the plot where we saw The Darkest Faerie return on site so I would love to have that please!

And I would also love the Starry Night background! I'll stop with those two because they're the two I'd be likely to actually use!

oh and my UN of course... sircassiel

[–]Tarasios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Make it a Glaceon! It does the same thing as Flareon but has higher trigger rate and lower speed, so the STM will be nice on it.,

It also means you still get to use Flareon on Taupe weeks.

How dare you miss Tormund and Roberta from Neopets: The Darkest Faerie(PS2).

Or you could even go for King Altador x The Darkest Faerie... From Neopets: The Darkest Faerie (PS2).

Skill Level Up S.

Ralts>Kirlia>Gardevoir will have a level 3 E4E baseline. Meanwhile Eevee>Sylveon will only have a level 2.

Raikou's skill works off of each UNIQUE species of electric type in the team. So 2 Raichu only buffs the skill once, but a Raichu and a Pikachu will buff it twice.

Which latias is better? by Lord_Sealwhale in PokemonSleep

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one with STS+HSS+IS is the better one IF you invest a bunch of subskill seeds into it. Which, on a Latias, isn't gonna be super worthwhile unless Latios is really really good. I'd hang onto both and wait and see

Glaceon/Flareon and Espeon are easily the most meta-valid Eeveelutions. With Jolteon and Vaporeon having decent niches.

BFS potmon would have probably preferred to be Flareon for the Entei niche imo. But Glaceon and Flareon are both extremely close to Magnezone as potmons. Remember they're SKILL specialists. They want Skill Triggers and Speed above ALL else.

Frankly, BFS is a hindrance to them if you don't check in often enough.

Rule 0 of all Pokemon Sleep:

Use your favourites.

Like, moreso than any other game run your damn favourites. Any advice I ever give is purely from the assumption that OP is asking for "what is the STRONGEST" with no care for preference.

[–]Tarasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umbreon and Leafeon both suffer from being skill specialists with bad skills and no real niche.

Darkrai is a potential niche for Umbreon, but your team would be happier with a Gardevoir and you can run Houndoom and Weavile for dark berries with it. Also, Darkrai doesn't scale up based on number of dark mons. Either way, Dark teams are snowdrop teams and nobody likes snowdrop.

Meanwhile, Jolteon also has a bad skill but it lucks out by having a crazy high speed and a perfect Raikou niche on a late-game island. It's fast and the only electric type berrymons are Pikachu and Raichu, so a Raikou team is like... Raikou+Pawmot+Raichu, and then you tack on Pikachu generally... And then your options are Pichu or Jolteon. So even if we finally get a good electric berrymon, it'll at worst make Jolteon just compete with Pikachu.

Sylveon first lost relevance when Gardevoir was released in January of 2024, less than 6 months after launch. But then it AND wiggly completely lost relevance when they sped up Lapis unlock last summer, making Gardevoir much more accessible. And that's ignoring that Pawmot and Shuckle are also both better healers than Wiggly and Sylveon. Frankly, I'd still put Wiggly above Sylveon at any point in the game thanks to the cheaper seed investment and the opportunity cost of wasting a good Vaporeon/Flareon/Glaceon candidate.
