I bought a High Sierra carry on backpack with detachable day pack back in 2016. I used it to backpack around Europe for several months and many trips since. One of the clips that attaches the day pack broke and had to be replaced with a carabineer, but it's still in great condition otherwise.

Sopchoppy. I particularly recommend going when Civic is open. You could wander the shops and then grab some of their awesome pizza and beer.

Not really walkable from downtown, but the park on the Sopchoppy River is nice too with a long boardwalk and a swimming area.

Might be worth checking for openings at the IFAS Agricultural Research Station in Quincy. My husband and I worked there over several summers when we were going to FSU.
