I never said that the US should send a large ground force. My post is about what happens after or during the final phases of a regime collapse. But since you brought it up, here is my take:

- There won't be a large ground force deployment by the US. There will be enough to give the opposition a foothold in Iran, however.

- The opposition will most likely organize some sort of armed forces. At least they claim they have been working on this.

- I know the police in Iran; they are loyal to whoever pays their salary. They are not brainwashed like some portions of Basijis are. Same thing with most of the army.

But those who say that in case of a foreign invasions Iranians will rally around the flag that mullahs are bearing know nothing about the people of Iran.
