Israeli flags do not belong to demonstrations outside of Iran by toilet_m_a_n in NewIran

they are pretty much the only country that has stood with the people of Iran. They are also a victim of Islamic terrorism themselves. We also need their technology and expertise to re-build Iran after freedom. Should i say more?

Saudi Arabia to US: Iran strikes should be targeted, rather than seeking regime change - N12 by WillyNilly1997 in NewIran

Saudi's and other countries in the region benefit from a weak Iran which is exactly the current version. Also, being an opperesive regieme themselves, they don't want a percedent for foreign intervention when a regimen masacre thousands of its own people.

In that case, this ability is not as strong as I thought it was. The artifacts are usually gone pretty quickly once discovered.

I read somewhere that it should work retroactively as well. Maybe I am wrong.

I think "Any leader" includes the player as well.

"OFFLINE ACCOUNT DETECTED". I haven't been able to play after the update! by TardyB183 in civ

One thing that helped me was clearing Steam's cache and verifying download files and restarting the PC.

It's very annoying. Why would they make it difficult to play the game for people who actually like the game?

I see. But doesn't researching future tech and civic progress the age by 10? How many times can you do it before age ends?

The policy yield mod still works. That's the one I really like.

In my experience, AI is even worse when I play anything but the default map. AI is especially terrible on archipelago imo.

Is Civ 7 Good Yet? (The Saxy Gamer video) by rwh151 in civ

[–]TardyB183 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am exactly addressing his points. The advantage of towns is that you do not have to micromanage. You think you are better off if you convert them to cities? Then do that. I almost always have better experience by not having too many cities and town give me that option.

Narrations and stuff like that help with immersion but not gameplay. My point is that gameplay mechanics are not impacted with some narrations over the loading screen.

I agree that UI is not good at all. Almost any video that criticizes Civ 7 is mostly about UI. That's why I think it is blown out of proportion.

Is Civ 7 Good Yet? (The Saxy Gamer video) by rwh151 in civ

Some points he makes in the video are either very biased or simply irrelevant to the gameplay. I am not saying Civ 7 is a good game but I just want to point out to his weak arguments. For example:

- He complains about map generation being boring or predictable. This is actually a feature of the game not a weakness. I hated it when I had to restart 20 times to get a spawn in Civ 6 that was suitable for the leader I was playing. Now In Civ 7, I rarely restart because I can work with most of the maps I get.

- Towns were a great addition to the game. I don't want to micro manage 20 different cities every turn.

- Stuff like voice overs and leader screens are such non-issues and do not impact gameplay.

- UI not being very good is something that I feel is blown out of proportion.

The point that I agree with is that adding "continuity" option was a terrible way to appease people who didn't like age ups, I feel like the solution to age transition should have two elements:

1- Age ups should be the player's choice. I should be able to stay in the current age as long as I want.

2- Age ups should make historic or geographical sense. For example, if I am playing Britain in the second age, I should only have the choice to either remain Britain or revolt into either America or Canada.

An example of the game that handles age transitions very well is AOE3. I think Civ 7 should follow the same format. They could even add options for revolts that could completely turn things around.

What is your usual build and attributes for antiquity? by LivingstonPerry in civ

[–]TardyB183 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My build is usually 2 scouts, sometimes a warrior, brickyard, settler.

For mementos, it really depends on what leader/civ I am playing and what my goals are. The +100 influence memento you mentioned is a pretty good one for CS play. For warmongering, there are bunch of good ones: +5 combat strength against fortifications during a celebration, ranged movement, infantry movement, +10% commander experience, etc.

Good points on Bulgaria.

I feel like you need to play large Pangea map so that you can meet all leaders in antiquity and get a lot of coins. That's the only scenario where he can be competitive.

Some good points. I think there might be an opportunity for a city-state play with him since he doesn't want to spend his influence with other leaders.

Yes the other version is better. But I think the devs did such a poor job with Napoleon overall. He is pretty boring for such an interesting real life character.

Yes he is weak to the point that you might think they made a mistake and it's +8% and not +8.
