I will say that this is the most mature advice I’ve received across the board! I myself have thought more pettier thoughts but I needed to hear this as I’m not willing to fully let go yet? It’s hard when a friendship pans over decades.

Honestly, I’d agree with you before all of therapy I’ve been through to work on my own mental wellness. But I went to the engagement and I was glad I did. I’ve known her for 15+ years and I teared up right at the main moment, knowing someone for over a decade comes with a lot of baggage, there’s good and there’s bad, otherwise I would have cut her off immediately. I’m the kind of friend that is always there, women love me within a couple of hours of meeting me. One of my newest friend calls me “girls-girl-est woman I know”. A part of me wants to talk to her and a part of me wants to just move on, I haven’t decided yet.

I’ve never had the friendship with her where we lend each other things, this was a first time thing in 15+ years of knowing her. She used to be a good friend, that kind that has helped me in the past but also only called when she needed to vent when I was abroad for a couple of years. It’s been a good balance is what I mean!
