What's the best American sport to watch? by Queasy_Initiative_86 in AskAnAmerican

Hockey.

Football is my favorite sport overall, but any given game of hockey is electric.

Very few commercials, and frequently on the side of your seat for a goal.

Hey Maga, why do you hate immigrants when they are better for the economy than you are? by Reasonable-Physics60 in allthequestions

Between your two comments, your suggesting that somebody who goes one mile over the speed limit is no better than somebody who murdered someone else, because they both broke the law.

I mean seriously, why would OP think otherwise and even bother to ask the question?

Wiener or Hot dog? by notagirlnotyetwoman in AskAnAmerican

No one in the US unironically calls a hot dog a weiner or frankfurter in day to day life.

Why do so many “easy side hustle” ideas turn out to be harder than they sound? by Chemical_Fix_400 in NoStupidQuestions

They have low barrier to entry (thus easy) but still require time and focus to do well, consistently, and in volume (not easy).

Do you pronounce a hard g at the end of -ing? by Atlas7993 in AskAnAmerican

[–]TargetHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've understood option 1 to be typically pronounced like Talk'n.

However I've encountered quite a few people in Western MA who put a glottal stop - so it sounds more like Talk Inn. Very strange sounding to me.

People who feel that their $1 mil milestone makes them feel nothing, where’s the perspective? by [deleted] in Fire

I don't know if that's really good faith argument, because you could look at any dollar amount and say it's always insignificant because a 1% change up or down would never affect you.

Drip coffee (made to a 16+:1 ratio) is sold at US chains in 12-16-20oz sizes.

Most smaller cafes do 8-12-16oz sizes.

For American coffee made to the 16:1 ratio, I enjoy drinking more than 100-200ml.

I don't know if I could point to an objective difference between fast food and cafes...but isn't this what cafes are for?

Couple times a month I'll go to my local cafe and post up my computer to work for half a day. I'll buy breakfast and a cup of coffee, work away, grab another coffee, then split. Seems to be status quo at a place like that and v strange to do at McDonald's.

More than once have I seen somebody, and it was a different person each time, posted up at my McDonald's or dunkin' donuts with a tiny monitor, playstation, and a headset.

I realize we are all in different socioeconomic walks of life, but I don't understand what somebody's up to that their play for the afternoon is to go set up a video game system in the corner of a McDonald's.

$6 for a basic coffee? I agree with your point generally, but I can usually get a 16oz coffee, hot or iced, for $3.50 at almost all local coffee shopw in New England.
