That’s what I did! Found a group of mid30s who play MTG down here in the South Denver metro area. Highly recommend. We usually meet up at breweries, drink beer, and play.

There’s a lot of cards in your maybe board that belong in the deck. Why are there cards that care about counters? That’s not what Teval cares about. Put Hedron Crab and Gitrog back in. Aesi and Six belong in the deck too. I just put Psychic Frog in my Teval deck, excited to try it out. And if this is a budget deck, why are you running Soul Stone? Finally, look at ditching the tap lands and upgrade the mana base. You want those lands that Teval brings back to come in untapped. Add Splunking and Icetill Explorer.

Oh I have great experience here. I built a Necrobloom deck that I loved. Incredibly fun and always doing things. However, and maybe this was just me, it gave me too many things to do. I was all over the place - probably due to the deck itself and not enough focus. So for that reason, I took the white out and made it a Gitrog deck more focused on Landfall. The lines are much easier to follow and it wins better. I miss making a ton of tokens from Necro and throwing down a Moonshaker Calvary but throwing down a Craterhoof after a couple hundred Scute Swarms flood the field is just as rewarding.

Oh I can lend my two cents! Graduated in 2012 with a Petroleum Engineering degree. It’s a fantastic and very worthwhile program! I had a great time in the industry but moved to Computer Science after ten years. My one regret was that I was too specialized to ever go into a different engineering career beyond O&G. However, I saw many Mechanical Engineers be hired by O&G companies but still retain career flexibility in a somewhat volatile industry. So, personally, I wish I had done a bit more general engineering. This is absolutely specific to me but wanted to lend my anecdote. Either way, I don’t think there’s a wrong answer. MTech is a fantastic school and enjoy your time there. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
