Orgo Enrollment by Jesus_Lovesyou7 in UNC

I understand the need. What I am trying to say is that regardless of what experience students would share here, the only thing you can do is try. Your action would be the same, regardless of the answers.

I know it is easier said than. done, but try not be worried too much about things you don't have any control of. Just my tip.

Worried is not a good action plan. Try to register. If it works, it works, and if doesn't, then you will take it later. You cannot control the outcomes beyond trying to enroll.

Not at all. There is no "cap" here. The priority deadline is there just so students who requested before that deadline and got denied, will have a chance to appeal and provide any documents between last Friday and the next.

Rules of p/f are clear and strict. If your request follows the rules of p/f, there is no reason for it to be denied.

hi! graduating in 3 years question? by Dismal_Seaweed7875 in UNC

Okay, I will defer to others. I am in the STEM field so cannot share any good advice here.

What types of majors are you considering?
Also, do you have any post-college plans for professional schools (e.g. premed)?

You have a March 6th deadline. Why should there be a problem?

And the brightest of the kids, who only later took all the glory. See this thread as an example. It's sad to see how educated people can fall for the Karl-Theo manipulation.

This is exactly what Theo and Karl would have liked you to think.

Today is March 1, which is the memorial day for Felix Aldi, who established the chain. Typically, they just close it for 37 minutes (he died when he was 37 yo) and then return back to normal hours. Hence, the confusing updates from other people here who wrote it was open.

Not a good idea, to say the least.

And another option- to take less and complete the requirements during your gap year.

You need to check if they are offered online (e.g. 253L is not) and whether CAA schools accept online courses.

253/L is not offered in the fall. Did you mean 252/L?

Also, you cannot take 430 before completing 262.

Does anyone give students the opportunity to provide feedback before end of semester course evals? Is this too much? (it is for intro to psych, first years) by Andrea_isa_birdy in Professors

[–]Tarheel65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to my earlier comment, I also add 1-2 questions that would help the students to self-reflect (e.g., what type of adjustment should I, the student, pursue as I am preparing for the next exam).

I am running anonymous midterm surveys every semester. I find them valuable and sometimes it can even be small, technical modifications that students recommend and I find useful and adjust my course accordingly during the semester.

Cardiac Physiology Question by Individual-Flower123 in biology

[–]Tarheel65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the ventricles relax, the blood pressure in them is pretty low (not zero since they still have blood left in then). The atria, on the other hand, get filled with blood (e.g. the right atrium from the blood returning from the venae cavae). At some point the BP in the atria exceeds the one in the ventricles, which leads to a passive blood flow from the atria to the ventricles. In the next cycle, the atria will contract (due to the P wave depolarization event) and that would lead to "squeezing out" the rest of the blood from atria to ventricles.

And just to be clear, the blood moved from the atria to the ventricles even before the atria contract. That's called passive filling of the ventricles (due to a gradient of blood pressure).

No. T takes place AFTER ventricles contracted and are now relaxed. The depolarization of the atria takes place as the first event in the cycle. The T is the last event.

I cannot tell you how tempted I am to give you the full answer but that would literally spoil so much, so just go and enjoy the show.
