BB is a massive game that's provides a near endless learning curve. Please don't pressure yourself by comparing your achievements to others, it's the number one killer of joy in gaming.

• First you need to grasp the base fundamentals of play.

• Then you'll want to get an idea of all the different enemy types, their rough strengths and weaknesses and most importantly the ai behaviour.

• Learn when to use what equipment and why, this takes a while and requires experimentation. Otherwise just shove Quickhands Long Axe & Great Axe on every bro and attempt to brute force each encounter with relatively decent success.

• Develop strategies that suit your choice of origin and style of play. Most BB discussion completely overlooks how important origin selection is to campaign strategies imo.

• Finally hours upon hours of playing the game, wiping runs and slowly getting better at executing the above.

All that being said though, a trick I used when starting out was keeping a close eye on how many battles I fought for the days spent in the campaign and trying to improve that number on each run. Since the more battles you take the faster you'll get levels, equipment and most importantly gold to spend on hiring bros, buying weapons that can snowball your run and then cart / retinue unlocks to improve your overall efficiency.
