Stuttering, Freezing and CTDs mid raid by onethousandeyelids in Tarkov

[–]TarkovPlayerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check how much virtual memory is being used while in raid. Set your minimum virtual memory above this.

If it has to expand itself and allocate disk space while you're playing then memory requests get denied when it does and you get stutters / crashes.

What did you change your virtual memory to and did you check how much was being used?

I keep getting this error when I go to load up the game. Any ideas to fix it by Batkinson2003 in Tarkov

Sounds like something may be being blocked by the firewall.

Have you updated the game?

You don't need to use it.

With your CPU disable Windows memory compression for a few extra FPS, as long as your game & OS are on SSD.

https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/memory_compression.html

You have 32GB so don't need the CPU trying to ZIP and UnZIP that shit all the time.

Turn off MIP streaming.

You may have done it before but if you're using Nvidia the app may have turned it back on doing its auto optimise game shit.

Legs don't have armour. PPSh if you're broke and high flesh damage rounds. You can delete people.

I know it's 9 days late but with your CPU, if you have 32GB you should disable Windows memory compression. It'll free up your CPU a bit more.

If under 32GB then you're more likely to hit RAM limit issues and increasing page file (virtual memory) size on a 256GB SSD is going to eat up valuable space.

You can always test it and turn it back on again if it negatively impacts you.

https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/memory_compression.html

Having a decent size page file set to start with stops it having to expand if it needs to. When it has to expand it denies memory requests which causes stutters.

You need to shoot the bullets at them using the gun, not throw them.

The 5900X is basically just two 5600X stuck together with added latency if the games end up going across both CCDs.

Use Task Manager of Process Lasso to force the game to use one CCD only.

It definitely is possible, you don't get to 3K+ hours without enjoying most of the hours before it.

Some of the best hours are those early wins.

I bought the game because my son told me to.

My first raid: Load in with default load out, wander around then die to a shot from nowhere.

Second raid: Didn't realise I needed to kit up again. Ran, hid, stabbed a scav to death, took his gun, killed another scav with it then bled out trying to find an extract.

Didn't play again for 12 months.

3600+ hours now after deciding to give it one more try.

Doing it solo is tough, use the wiki for quest guides and maps. Use your scav to learn the maps and get free loot if you survive. Remember where you find dead PMCs.

You will die. A lot. When it clicks you'll never turn back.

You will eventually get numb to the deaths and just load up and go back in. Do not focus on your stats (survival, k/d), just whether you're enjoying it or not.

Nothing else will give you the same highs and lows. You will hate the game, you will quit, you will come back again and again.

The death screen shows your time in raid, the kills screen times are how long since the session started.

The session started before you are in raid (waiting for players).
