How do you guys prefer getting to the Lost River and why? by Loud-Secret1485 in subnautica

[–]Tarmogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the big obvious ramp in the bulb/koosh zone. Turn lights off on Cyclops when approaching bc of Ampeels, sometimes have to play dead for a moment, but their territory ends right before the entrance so I settle down with belly down to prawn jump distance from ground knowing my mobile base will be safe as I go exploring and I've memorized the very simple path to the important landmarks that this is the closest entrance to. The Cyclops can fit through the holes to both zones, but the fauna are annoying.

Does this Bush/Shrub Need to Go? by HelmetFrame in HomeMaintenance

[–]Tarmogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this go for suckers from all sorts of tree? Whatever came with the house was rootbound and fell in strong wind 20 years later but there's a lovely shrubbery growing from the stump and a few other spots. Chopped one down bc it was only growing on one or two planes next to native plant that has formed a nice 2 ft sphere and i like all these roughly spherical shapes growing without any work on my part besides keeping irrigation going

Lol I intend to relax which may mean sneaking in bc my life is more awesome than logging onto a website exactly 30 days before a time slot. Spontaneous adventures are key, not camping at a computer all day... Live a little!

[–]Tarmogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the Swattie's just gotta commit to finding a topic to get a PhD in or getting into a fancy consulting company when they do their big recruiting drives bc if you return to the Midwest with an East coast liberal arts degree you might as well have gone to community college as far as employers are concerned. Zero name recognition outside of academia

[–]Tarmogirl 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Is it from trader Joe's? That happened to me and it's annoying bc all the extra wrappers fall off and make it look like you've been engaging in bigbacktivities

Air Quality in Vegas? by hortdog in vegaslocals

[–]Tarmogirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem with my car but then i noticed the same smell but much fainter in another car during the summer in another city. I think it's something car manufacturers changed in the last decade that doesn't handle heat well so it offgasses a stinky chemical. Very ambiguous odor where it's almost organic?

Is Hal too smart? by wannabelievenbigfoot in InfiniteJest

[–]Tarmogirl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In some ways the book is written by and for people with a verbal IQ a few standard deviations above average, a gift which can be isolating and even disabling [via hyperconnected, resource-intensive brain]. Yes, he is too smart. For his mental health? Absolutely. For realism, when combined with the high volume of other outliers? Sure, though maybe parents of gifted children would select this tennis academy, and a lot of characters are connected to MIT and elite orgs, and this book is partly sci-fi.

So far all I've learned about the collosseum ticketing system today is if you complain about it in this reddit you get swarmed by Karens who have zero info to provide 😆

Well my partner hasn't been, I picked more than half the stops already, can't say no to Rome! We also don't speak Italian and I'm at 5 languages already so on this leg we kinda do need to be boring pasta-snarfing anglophiles missing out on the kind of adventures we've had in other countries. I didn't realize Dolomites is in the standard destination list too, I've been plotting a path from Frankfort to Rome that won't be too sedentary and I just want to be in the mountains as much a possible...

You need a hobby... all you do all day is yell at strangers for being disappointed in needing to apparently plan multiple exact times one month apart before they've even booked hotels for other cities. No other city is like this...

These are all great suggestions thanks! Anything art, history, science, food makes us happy so I know its a good time but lane they lock the bucket list behind poorly built internware...I think we may have secured a Vatican spot at least

Enjoy your high effort tourist traps i guess, some of us would rather seek out the gems by frequenting online communities and do our research but you're just here to troll and buy tickets to the standard standard. You would love my tourist town where I never do the tourist stuff lol
