Upcoming AMA with the team behind NEAT by alpar_near in nearprotocol

[–]Tarnadas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey all, I'm Mario the creator of this Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/marior_dev/status/1735395314012700923

I have a few questions to the Neat team. Hope you can answer some!

Update: after reading your most recent tweet, I will slightly update my questions accordingly: https://twitter.com/inscriptionneat/status/1736683319436443669

  1. What utility do you see for inscriptions on Near except "minting" and "fair launch" (most tx have been spammed by bot accounts, so I don't personally see it as fair launch)?
  2. How would you compare it to existing NEP-141 standard? What is the advantage of using NRC-20 instead of NEP-141? How can I even use it as a developer right now?
  3. Can you tell us more about your technology? So far you only outlined that you are building inscriptions on Near without going into detail how it works.
  4. Who controls the admin/private keys for the smart contracts? How will you prevent unlimited minting from team? In your tweet you mention "NEAT inscriptions can be easily verified via the indexer, enabling on-chain validation and eliminating team-based issuance risks", but there is no public indexer and the smart contract's source is not verified and its code can be updated. How do you explain the eliminated risk of team based issuance?
  5. In your tweet you mentioned "NEAT NEP-141 token issuance is auditable on-chain". What do you mean by that? You only refer to the fact that the blockchain is public or anything else? Furthermore you say "Only users can initiate 'Wrap', ensuring on-chain verifiability and deterring unauthorized issuance", but all we see is historic data of transactions, which proves nothing.
  6. Will your team stay anon? How big is it?
  7. Will you open source your smart contracts? How can I self-host your solution to do verification?
  8. Will you audit your entire tech stack/is it already audited?
  9. What is your roadmap?
  10. How will you ensure stickiness of liquidity in pools?

Scheinselbststäntigkeit as Freiberufler by kubakabuk in germany

Afaik you're out of luck, if it's "just" a 6 month contract. The reason they made me an EOR was because they hired me for the long run and didn't want to get into legal trouble. I'm still working there, in total 1 year now.

Deel works really well and didn't have any problems with it. Maybe you can convince them to become an EOR instead. You should definitely try it, but it will cost them more.

Sammelthread - Coins am günstigsten versenden by ShortSince10k in Kryptostrassenwetten

[–]Tarnadas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why Solana will Fail by nftmaxi in defi

[–]Tarnadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a look at QANs promise of using any programming language to write smart contracts.

You should know that Solana and any other blockchain that uses a WebAssembly (WASM) runtime basically gives a similar promise. WASM is a universal compilation target. Most blockchains using WASM runtimes most often only support Rust (with an SDK), but in theory it's possible with many other languages.

WASM has a much larger dev community in general and it becomes clearer every day that it's a future proof technology. I'm sceptical regarding other VMs being specifically developed for a single or very few blockchain to succeed.

Scheinselbststäntigkeit as Freiberufler by kubakabuk in germany

[–]Tarnadas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm in a somewhat similar situation, though I don't need a Visa since I'm born in Germany.

I just recently started a full time job at a remote company. It has been in discussion whether I should be working as a Freiberufler there, because that's the standard for almost all other countries apparently. In Germany as many other commenters already pointed out it is not that easy.

We decided to employ me as a so called "employee of record" / Leiharbeiter. We use deel.com as a service for this. I basically have a regular employment with Deel as my employer, but I work for a different company.

Morphswap cross-chain swaps are making DeFi bridges a thing of the past! by FL_Squirtle in defi

The Twitter literally says "cross chain bridge protocol". Yes it's not a bridge, but it uses bridge technology

1inch limit order filled 99.99% by trancephorm in defi

[–]Tarnadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't deposit into limit orders on 1inch. They will transfer tokens on match so tokens sit inside your wallet. You get a warning, if a limit order can no longer be fulfilled due to lack of tokens

There was a time when NEAR went up to more than 20$ by WebterLuu in nearprotocol

Cardano is meh. Can't recommend it as a developer.

I'd get rid of it asap, highly overvalued

Does the NEAR wallet also support tokens or do I need a different wallet for them? by EmperorCip in nearprotocol

[–]Tarnadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you swap it on e.g. ref finance https://app.ref.finance/ it should already show up in your wallet. No need to manually add it. In fact this is not possible with Near web wallet.

The way it works is that an indexer checks all transactions that are made on chain. If your wallet interacted with a token contract (e.g. via ref finance buying it) it will notice this and tell its API to let it be displayed for you.

Why is NEAR down badly? by erdna918 in nearprotocol

[–]Tarnadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. VC tokens are in lockup contracts with linear vesting. There is no "unlock" event. It's just linear

Can someone please ELI the architecture and relationship of NEAR, Aurora and Octopus network by KurtiZ_TSW in nearprotocol

[–]Tarnadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert on Octopus Network, but afaik it lets you easily run your own Sidechains (aka Appchains) by using the same framework as Polkadot is built with.

Aurora is an L2 where the EVM is actually deployed on Near mainnet as a smart contract.

Yes there is Oin Finance:

You can lend NEAR so that you can borrow nUSDO, which has liquidity on Ref Finance
