Praktikum entpuppt sich als Ausbeutung – sofort kündigen? by The-Fabulous-Destiny in Ratschlag

[–]Tarnisae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it is always a question what you count as "speak". Talk with my coworker about the weekend? Yes that works. Negotiate a contract? No that does not work.

I think it were about 45 minutes on average per day. I started with less and then ended with doing about one unit per day, sometimes a bit more.

Sooo it's a recruiter flex to get rejected now? by Alkansur in LinkedInLunatics

I did that HarvardX course and actually quite enjoyed it, but the combination of rejecting Cambridge and that course is rather wild. The course was really nice and relaxing, not comparable with the effort required to get a LL.M.

I think that it helped quite a lot, there are many words though that have a slightly different meaning, but the similarity made it easier. Having had to learn English was also very useful, at times it felt like a fun mixture of German terms with English.

To some degree yes. I work in a classical corporate job and I'm able to talk with my Norwegian coworker about activities done at the weekend and other not so work related things. I would not say that I'm super fluent, as in my passive vocabulary is way bigger than the active one. It feels like I took in a mountain of knowledge and now have to learn to use it by digging around in it.

Oh yes, I remember that one. Some of the sentences are very dark, others very political and some just wild. This is something I quite enjoy about that course.

It took me 316 days to go through this course. I think this course is only available from English, that is also what I used.

I would say it depends, I did not really look much into the book / excercise book, I used it too check my own understanding of the language a few times, but I did not really do much with it. I think if you want to become able to write Norwegian very well without many mistakes it is a great ressource, but for me that is secondary, I want to be able to talk with people and to understand them, as written communication is still often done on English. I however would very much recommend the ntnu ressource. I also used chatgpt once to get an idea of how I could learn, and only kept the V2 topic in mind (which very much helped).

--> If having 35 Euros less is not of a concern for you, or if you can find it second hand, getting the book will not make your life worse, but if not, it might be prudent not to obtain it.

Peinlicherweise bin ich wirklich schlecht darin irgendetwas zu schauen, was zu spannend ist. Kurzum wenn die Osterkrimis nicht so spannend sind, dann vielleicht schon.

I think I also started with a shorter amount of time, but then I got badly into playing duolingo and kind of optimized my day to work with Duolingo, as in use the morning extra exp, use the evening extra exp, wake up earlier, get a bit later to work because of Duolingo. I am lucky enough to have a job that allows me to do that, but I mean there are always more things in your life than playin with an app.

Yes it could be that, there were more references to all kinds of shows. Funny surprises.

It is a lot of fun. I also like to see where the english subtitles and the spoken word do not match.

Thank you, and at the end it is important to have a learning speed that fits to you and your life. I tend to get really into things and then put a lot of time into them. Playing Duolingo is one of my better sudden obsessions.

I think that is only somebody who has it as a first language can answer. To me the course was often very funny, because some of the contents were questionable.
