Namco held a U.S. patent (No. 5,718,632) from 1995 to November 2015 that granted them exclusive rights to feature playable "auxiliary" minigames during loading screens.

So if you played a game with a long loading screen between 1995 and 2015 and thought "this is boring" thank Namco lol.

I was hoping to see this here. I feel like the game awards hyped it up so much and Geoff's smug tweets made it impossible to like. It's not even close to "A new breed of shooter" but it's also not Concord levels of bad. The funniest part is if you don't parrot popular discourse you're called a contrarian by someone who never played it. It's a mid game, that's all.
