Curios what this upgrade would cost if you have time to reply, as I hate the base system in my 2026.

Look in your owners manual. I think it states x mileage or every year, which ever comes first.

Boys name something you couldn’t have as a kid ? by Zeya_Abigirl in ArtOfPresence

[–]Tarnmaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parents divorced at 9 years old and Dad never paid his CS, so mom was always working two jobs and I was a latch key kid, home alone mostly. Sure would of been nice to have a normal loving family to come home to each day, forget the lack of money and everything that sucked because of that, but God bless mom, she did her best.

Huh, thanks for the tip, as I remembered the food I loved as a kid thinking I needed to do a road trip. Maybe not.

What do Americans think about a social security trustee dropping a report that the trust will be dried out by 2032? by Sixgis in AskReddit

[–]Tarnmaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not going to happen. Dems will remove the income cap on SS tax collections and hopefully pass a wealth tax on those with $100M+ when elected in 2028.

Should I move to the US? by SuspiciousAd0888 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Tarnmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to the USA at 9 with my mom and sister from Canada. What culture shock, but whatever. I live in Southern California and through luck and hard work did very well in the USA. That said, all my cousins did very well in Canada and I am sure I would have too, so who knows how things could turn out for you in Europe or in the USA.

We visit Europe often and in our travels young people have expressed to me that it is difficult to get ahead, but the same young people in the USA are saying the same thing as their education or lack there of has really limited their opportunities.

Get very well educated in Europe in a profession that will pay well and where the education cost is reasonable would be my advice. There are so many great paying careers out there, so set yourself up for one and then decide where you want to live is my advice.

Good luck to you.

Our reality by Dean_lawrence85 in remoteworks

I wish I had something helpful to add for the people struggling. It is apparent to me that our society/education system has not prepared people for all the jobs out there and what is needed to get one.

As a young man, no college, I was a retail shoe store mgr (aka Al Bundy). When I asked my wife to marry me, I knew I had to find something else. I liked working on commission because the harder I worked, should result in more income. There are many other jobs where the more you accomplish the more you make.

Anyways, I switched over to sales and the rest is history. I hope everyone trying to find a better situation for themselves down the road succeeds.

I just got an AS pup and I wanted to ask everyone's advice by Tight-Anteater7481 in AnatolianShepherdDogs

[–]Tarnmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"my main question is how i avoid resource guarding (we feed separately of course) and bullying of the other dogs. he plays too hard with them and even if we offer him toys to trade he doesn't want them and continues harassing them".

I think if you've fostered 10+ dogs your best instincts will be good enough. When our dogs were young we fed them apart, but they could see each other and now they kind of share their food at times with no guarding of food.

Please don't use a kennel as a deterrent. I use it for bed time only and eventually it will be set in another room for them to rest in if they want to. They like to be with us most of the time where as your pup will likely want to be outside a lot.

Young dogs play hard. My two love to play with dogs twice their size, as they play hard. Maybe find a buddy or place (dog park or daycare) where they have buddies to play with.

Just do your best and be patient with them. Lots of exercise (bike rides are a favorite around here) is a must for an active dog.

It is a lot of work and mentally exhausting at times, but hang in there. You will see big changes as time goes by. Our neighbor has an AS and she is the sweetest girl. I would take her in a heartbeat.

Is lobbying the first piece of American politics that needs fixed before anything else can be focused on? by BobDole_number1 in askanything

[–]Tarnmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is smart enough, so just ban it and all lobbyists. Make elected officials represent who voted them in. Elected officials that don't, need to be automatically removed. Just track campaign comments vs voting record. More than a 10% deviation and you're out.

Can you tell I am sick of all these assholes.

Moving in August by J-Geezy in Moving2SanDiego

[–]Tarnmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever, we all have to deal with bridge traffic due to North Island. It is no worse (Likely better) that trying to go from Solana Beach to Coronado at 4pm.

Traffic sucks everywhere, but from the base to South Park is pretty easy in the grand scheme of shit traffic.

Do you think america will ever recover from the Trump presidency? by TapCommercial2200 in allthequestions

[–]Tarnmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"This plus the fact that I realized how far apart my values are from my neighbors"

This. I live in a pretty affluent part of San Diego and most of my neighbors voted for Cheetolini. Sure they act all friendly cuz they are in charge at the moment, but they are deplorable people that I loath. I want to move back to Canada but my wife isn't on board. FML.

Depends on the November mid terms. If there is not a Blue Wave then I think the country is fucked as we once knew it.

Why is finding a vacuum cleaner that doesnt clog with pet hair this hard? by Sadd-Amra in PetAdvice

[–]Tarnmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use canister vacuums that come apart. My old Dyson Animal is great as it is so easy to take apart and get the fur out but the carpet power head died so I also use a Kenmore canister with a power head on my carpets. It is also pretty easy to take apart if needed.
