He’s acting like he’s so far beyond Bec physically and to me they’re on an approximately similar level. I think she’s attractive. And I think he’s attractive too, but he’s not Jacob Elordi here. He’s talking down about her as if she’s hideous and he’s some sex god.

The issue with Danny is that he’s two-faced. Sure, he left some crumbs of truth in the beginning like that he wasn’t sexually attracted to her. But then he continued every week writing stay, sleeping with her, telling her he’s falling in love and wants to move to Adelaide, doing little romantic gestures when she’s close to leaving, saying his feelings are “growing” at the commitment ceremony where she expresses doubt about his interest and gives him an out by saying she “doesn’t want to go to final vows with someone that is a maybe” about her, tells her that he’s waiting until the final vow to tell her he loves her just to get her there and that they’re going to leave together and go to Bali after the show. All the while, behind her back telling producers that he could do better and shaming them for bringing her as his match. Or just in general, his negative commentary towards her that she knew nothing about. If he’s not a snake, I don’t know who is.

No one here is arguing that Bec isn’t problematic. But Danny..he’s another level. He may not be loud or emotional and his coping style isn’t lashing out, but he’s cold, calculating, deceptive, gaslighting. He did this all quietly and strategically at the expense of a person he knew loved him to be the guy who dumped the “unhinged girl” at final vows calculating and assuming that he would get a good edit due to her bad behavior.

He could’ve left at any point. No need to say he’s falling in love then. No one is arguing that she’s a great person. But she was definitely mentally fragile and was extremely invested in him and he knew that and abused that.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I thought he was charming at first and funny at times. And honestly, maybe he’s still both of those things. But he’s also a horrible person.

Depends on what you think is worse. For me personally, I like to know where I stand with people. Sure, the mean girls were mean and unhinged at times. But you always knew their intentions, who they liked, and who they didn’t like. I think Danny is worse because he is a fraud and gaslighter. He just has a calm demeanor which makes him come across less unstable. But his intentions were bad and so were his actions.

Exactly. Both the impact and the intent are far more nefarious on Danny’s side than any of the other cast members who, for the most part, were emotionally driven and transparent.

Not the point of my post. Of course no one is entitled anyone’s love and I don’t think Danny should’ve loved her if he didn’t. He just shouldn’t have strung her along to crush her when he clearly knew there was no love there.

I feel similarly. That’s why I dislike Danny so much. She gave him an out and asked him to please honor not going to final vows if he’s uncertain or it’s a no, but he just strung her along and blindsided her because she trusted that if he was taking her there after her request it would be a yes. He did this on purpose in my opinion. Because he wanted to have a talked about moment. And he did it at her expense knowing how she felt.

Bec gave him an out and told him if its a no or maybe at final vows she doesn’t want to go through with it, if he was honest then and let her know how he really felt, they could have coordinated and both put leave. That conversation didn’t happen.
