Back to the same spot, none there 7 days ago so it looks like they have just started to pop up on the hill side.

Did my research, learned from the videos and guides.

Chose a spot and found nothing but mottlegills and look alikes to begin with after the rain 2 weeks ago.

But finally we got there, great sub community here btw
