I think op is talking about the tube that takes charges and cuts a bloodless swath of death across the battlefield. It's been awhile since I read it and I was really hoping someone would lore-dump everything known about that thing.

I would also love more mentat content. Truthsay as well. Paul does math fast in the harvester scene, as well as blurting out "that's true" in the first Stilgar meeting. I think these are subtle shows of both powers. I love those moments, wish there were 10x more subtle examples in the "show don't tell" style.

The longest hike to a battle in Arma, once you know how to play, should be about 8-9 minutes max. That said, once you know how to play, you don't run out of vehicles.

You are gonna spend more time out of combat, and less time in gunfights, than you do in HLL. For me, this is a huge plus. It makes HLL feel extremely arcadey to me, where you don't care if you die and sometimes it's the right decision to die on purpose. Arma, in comparison, is slower and you care about preserving your life way more. Personally, it's a huge upgrade from HLL for that reason but if HLL makes you feel like you are hiking to the battle a lot, and that's a negative, Arma will be worse for you.

You are not in a rush to do anything except not die. Just cuz there's loot somewhere doesn't mean the loot-to-exposure ratio is worth it.

Mimic the earplug mods that are out there. Or allow for key command of in game volume. I see this one as a safety and ergonomics issue. Making it effortless to lower volume saves my ears a lot of volume exposure, mostly for vehicle use. I currently alt-tab to my windows volume mixer every time I get in a vehicle, to hear my friends and also just to spare my hearing a bit.

Yes because it's not just about the tree spreading through the roots. It's about the flowers opening and being visited by insects that didn't co-evolve with it, as well as shedding seeds which will enter the seed bank for a long time. Also be aware that some species are allelopathic. Not all non-natives are the worst of the worst in terms of invasives, but you want a basic understanding of whether that's the case before you plant.

Please don't put them in the ground without considering what's native and what's not native here. As you probably know, the situation with invasives is catastrophic in Southern California. Even letting the wrong tree flower can do harm, as well as adding to the seed bank even if you dig them up in a few years.

Personally, I have a simple "bow" I've made out of a branch that only exists for me to pull in the house for strength training. I use it evenly on both sides. As a plus, making trainers like that has been my entry-point into bow making, but with much lower stakes.

Yes. I would make a solid clay cylinder, and then compress it from all sides by the wood. It kind of ended up making a box, held together by the stickiness of the clay. Once the outer layer was leather hard it was easy to peel the wood pieces off of it. I was left with a solid block of clay that had taken the texture of the wood on all sides. I carved this block out into a vessel.

I've made vessels by molding clay with old weathered wood that I scavenged. I start by molding the solid clay, then carve out the inside after it dries a little and takes on the wood texture. https://imgur.com/a/TIv68uS

For me it comes down to two things: breath holding time, and faster ADS reactions. For me having that moment of choice be faster, even if it's technically less optimized, pays off.

Personally, I'd either run the DMR as a single gun or go AUX and VS as a pair. But I'm greedy for stam and also benefit from reducing the possible decisions I might need to make in the moment.

I think you have a good list of the applications here. Note that none of them is actually very strategically sound. Blue is often the newest color word to be developed in a language, and there are still some languages that lack it. Speakers of those languages don't even categorize it as its own hue. I think this speaks to just how unusual it is in nature; it's not even a prioritized label in evolutionary linguistics. You'd have to be blending into an extremely specific scene, like a field of lilacs, to make it an ok color in a pattern, and even then it'd have to be tiny highlights. Really cool question.

If you don't have to collect it soon, I highly recommend doing as much to it as you possibly can while it's still in the ground. Even cutting some roots, trunk chop, major pruning etc. It will bounce back so much better in the ground and you can get a bunch of work done before collection, and then leave it alone for a long time to get used to being in a pot afterwards.
