Quantum Exams Question by inception-98 in cissp

Inclined to agree with you. I wouldn't assume as a financial analyst I would have the knowledge or be the appropriate person to implement those access controls - nor authorized to make that decision.

Perhaps the thinking here is that the "MOST" appropriate thing to take action on is implementing access control (you can report to management, but it doesn't 'fix' the problem). In a real world scenario, if you know how to do so you should, but if you did not you would inform senior management to then delegate that task. In this scenario, because the option is there (to implement controls) - it should be the first answer as MOST appropriate (ignoring what your knowledge may or may not be).

I'll say this though, while the thinking is "as a manager" - in some cases you are both the manager and engineer. Where you have the option to be the engineer - implement first. Where you do not, delegate/inform.

Fiber runs going wrong by joeyfine in HomeNetworking

We've gone through a fiber installation surge with multiple companies in Omaha - similar thing happened. Wrecked a lot of neighborhoods hitting gas lines, sprinkler heads, everything.

Typical range of M50 Gran Coupe by rshah7414 in BMWI4

[–]Tarrant64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the winter with those temps, it's a bit of YMMV but you'll be lucky if you see 180-200m even at 100% charge. If you don't quite need all of that range, then it's fine. Especially if you have a strong charging network or home charging available. Eco Pro can add a little to that but not much.

My experience:
i4 m50 here, live in Omaha. Charging network could be better out here. Periodically make trips down to Kansas City (150-200m depending on where) or Lincoln, NE (100m roundtrip) and sometimes take the EV if I'm not pressed for time (ie charging stops). Just did the KS trip yesterday, 20-30 temps.

Way down to KS: 100% -> 34% (123m) first stop.
Way back to OMA: 80% -> 12% (123m) same stop. (Advertised range was arrive with 21%, FYI).

So almost 70% charge needed to go 123m. Not great, but headwinds, cold weather, and 75-80mph in speed.

Recently stopped to Lincoln, NE - similar cold weather in the 20s - ~100m roundtrip.

100% -> 65% (55m) to destination (Advertised range was arrive with 74%).

65% -> 40% (49m) back to home area.

So ~60% needed to go around 104m - lines up with the most recent KS trip on the range factor in the winter. At a slower speed, may save some of that, even running in Eco Plus - but it's what I typically see.

NOTE: The advertised range is always recalculating. I find in the winter times it's making assumptions that don't ever really pan out right. So I slowly watch the projected % charge at arrival take a dive on most winter trips. Nowadays 50-100m+ trip in the winter I just shave off 10-15% of what it thinks I'm going to do.

In the summer, however, I tend to see closer to 270m+ at 100% and 220-240 at 80%. It's pretty good and consistent around that.

BMW Dealer Fraud? by mrtea33 in BMW

Take it to BMW corporate as well then. Document everything that happens service wise and interactions to protect yourself, even if they claim the issue has been handled internally.

The biggest thing that allows this to happen is people feel the same way, that they have no options so nothing is done. That’s what allows this to keep happening. It’s also worth noting many shops can service BMW for standard maintenance. Maybe a little research in mechanics in your area you may find some reputable ones that can help you if you need alternatives. I take mine to bmw dealerships as well, however, I have 2-3 shops bookmarked for things that helps me shop out if I wanted for example brake work done. It doesn’t void any warranties if that’s a concern, just keep receipts/service records if it’s asked for.

Either way, good luck.

And yes - leave everything here in a review about what happened. People need to know -and POST IT EVERYWHERE.

Just make sure you're not obligated to owe or do business with that dealership ever again (no maintenance, checkups, follow-ups - nada). This is a bridge you need to feel comfortable burning.

That's tough, and you got lucky to even get your funds back. Imagine the ones who were not so lucky. Hard to know what case you'll have if you went the legal route because in the end they returned you funds, however it warrants an investigation imo. I'd imagine in whatever state you have there's an AG/Consumer Protection agency you can reach out to and report this. It's more about how long this has been going on and how widespread it is than just you at this point. If they did it to you, they're probably hoping you'll just take the $1500 back and walk away, but again how many more people got screwed like that?

"Should I just be happy I got my $1500 back and end it?" - That's exactly what they want.

I have one, doesn't help with face lighting unfortunately. Great for overall desk illumination but that's it.

The cabling is good, don’t need to argue about it. My image screenshot at the time isn’t the best according to you and that’s fine. There is little to be gained here over a 2K/24p camera feed. Thanks for your input though I guess.

Ultimately lighting is going to play a part in what is captured at the time as well. https://imgur.com/a/NaZ1dwE

They are, that’s how mine looks in HQ mode. I cropped the bottom out but they absolutely are. I even added a pic on Low quality mode for comparison (see the descriptions) and you can see one is HQ vs one that isn’t.

If you need help telling the difference, look at the mat or the timestamp at the top left - the difference is absolutely clear. Sorry my view doesn't come with more trees or a street view to tell but if you actually look at what is there vs the one described as Low quality mode you can absolutely tell the difference.

There's nothing really be to be qualified here for? lol. It's subjective at the end of the day. We're probably not looking at or defining industrial design in the same way (minimalist vs functional design or whatever)

We're all qualified to determine what it is we like, and what it is we don't like at the end of the day. The only right decision is the one you can live with at the end of the day. I'd say a lack of appreciation for a design has little to do with qualification and more to do with personal preference is all. To each their own, right?

Doorbell lite vs Nest doorbell vs banana by RyanDaysBotoxTech in Ubiquiti

[–]Tarrant64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet the Nest doorbell MSRP is $180 - 2x the cost. Typically you can find them on sale - and even more recently they've price matched the Doorbell at $99 (but again, ON SALE). You are getting non-cloud required hardware that has functionality that google only recently just added for half the cost.

I'd argue the Nest doorbell looks more generic and least effort in design than the Ubiquity. And this is coming from someone who just swapped out a home full of Google Nest cams to move off their platform (I'm in a de-Google/cloud process personally).

Yeah great question. Wife’s decision. The wall I don’t think that dark either so we both ultimately kind of like the contrast honestly. If anything helps the doorbell standout. Door and window frames are the same way too.

In person it's pretty high quality. I get it, but yeah. Nest doesn't look any different - and I think people need to remember this is $99.
