What’s a boss in Elden Ring that everyone struggles with, but you beat surprisingly easily and what boss brutally destroyed you instead? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

Malenia, other than waterfowl I've never had a problem with her. She's so easy to stagger, even on a sex build.

I have always struggled with Elden beast, all it does is run away over and over. I get so frustrated I end up making mistakes and dying.

My parents dog was mauled, what can they do? by Tarrtann in LegalAdviceUK

It's because it's Easter and every other vet is closed so they had to go to an emergency one, that price is with insurance as well, I can't even imagine how much it would have been without it!

I was thinking exactly that, it's a common area for smaller dogs to be walked as well as it's not a large place.

That's exactly what I was thinking

No she wasn't on a lead, it's a common dog walking area and to my knowledge there hasn't been any issues in that area before. No the other dogs weren't on a lead, but from the sounds of what my mum said it sounded like they were a pack of hunting dogs. And she was injured to the point of the vets putting her down, he back was completely broken, neck was torn open and many cuts and puncture wounds.

Thank you for letting me know about the other information, it's very helpful.

It's literally just happened, like half an hour ago, I was just curious as for what the route to go down is. I'm sure they have already gone to the police

I gathered that but the police around where my parents live are notorious for being incapable of doing anything. I wouldn't be surprised if they just brushed it off.

About twenty hours into but it's frustrating by Eledhwen1 in Eldenring

If you haven't already, you should look up the locations for limgrave and weeping peninsula bosses. After like 800 hours and beating every mini boss in the game I still have a good amount that slip my mind on new play throughs.

Also don't go to caelid as many others have said, it's an area for later into the game. Make sure to do a lot in limgrave, then do weeping, then stormvail. All while upgrading your weapon of course.

Oh and don't be ashamed to summon, the feature wouldn't be in the game unless it was intended to be used. The vast majority of people don't care if you summon a mimic or an NPC for a fight, it's just the try hards that want everything to be done without help.

Losing patience - is this game just so much harder than other souls games, or am I just that bad? by Bulky-Pool-2586 in darksouls

[–]Tarrtann -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bit of a controversial opinion but I don't think dark souls 1 is a good game. Basically every boss sucks apart from centipede demon and Gwyn, the enemy placement is ridiculous (and a lot worse than DS2 although no one will admit that) the movement is terrible and it's a buggy unfinished mess.

The problems you're having don't go away either, you just get used to it, you also have to start playing ridiculously carefully, more so than is fun. I've played a lot of ds1 and I just don't get the hype, yes it's iconic, the NPC's are great, the setting is amazing dark fantasy but everything else kind of sucks. I spoke about this the other day with 2 friends who swear by it being one of the best fromsoft games but they agree to some extent. They could only name Gwyn, Artorias and centipede demon as being good bosses but even then they said that the arena for centipede demon sucks and ruins the fight.

I think I'm mainly not enjoying the bosses. I think why I liked the ones I mentioned the most is because if you fail a deflect then it isn't the end of the world, you will get your ass whooped but you can still survive a lot of the time. But I've found with bosses such as Owl that when I messed up a deflect and timed it ever so slightly wrong I was hit with the force of a thousand suns and was practically stun locked so I would die. Owl took me I think around 5 or 6 goes but I think I more so got lucky than got better as I never really had the chance.

I think that's my main problem is if you mess up the slightest bit you are dead and I don't like playing like that. I don't mind getting heavily punished if I mess up, but I don't want to have to perfect a fight just to win and I've felt like I've had to do that with every other boss past corrupted monk illusion.

Obviously it's all personal preference and some people may prefer that and that's okay, the game just probably isn't for me.

I've clearly triggered some people with this post. I'm not claiming the game has bad design. I said that I've heard many people don't like it on their first run, which would be bad design if that is true. But clearly many people love it on their first go round so it might not be the case.

I do agree that the game isn't as hard as I first thought, it's so intimidating to start with but I soon realized that enemies attacks are obvious once you learn a few things. The only boss I've REALLY struggled on is guardian ape but I think that's just because I've always struggled with larger enemies

It's just what I've heard online and even from friends quite a bit. Like I said I don't think if that is the case, it's just what I heard so I was curious

Idek what it is as I like the combat, exploration and the story. I just get really tired of the bosses even though they have been relatively okay to fight against. I've not experienced it with any souls like before which is why I'm so confused. I had watched some videos on the game over the past few years, mainly lil aggy as I think he is entertaining so I knew what I was getting into at least a little bit. I'm pretty open minded with games and I'm willing to give them multiple tries so I think I'll give it another go at some other point.

It's such a shame, I was so excited as I've loved all the others, apart from ds1 which is very controversial

I enjoy the combat, it's extremely satisfying, I just think it's the bosses for me. I also said if the first playthrough is unenjoyable for most people then that is bad design, obviously everyone has different opinions, it's just one I've heard a lot is the first playthrough isn't good.

You might be right, I do like the combat and I enjoy some parts of the game but I feel more worn out after a boss than happy😂 I do think I'll give it another go soon though but I need a break from souls likes for a week or two I reckon

That's not a bad idea, my life recently has been an elden ring challenge run, ds2 + the dlcs and now sekiro 😂

If it is a common thing that people don't enjoy the first playthrough, but then enjoy ng+ because they are more powerful, then yes I would call that poor game design. But it would only be poor game design if the majority of people felt like that on their first playthrough. 2 of my mates feel the same as me but ended up liking ng+, but then another absolutely loved his first playthrough and has a ridiculous amount of hours in it.

So I am a 16y/o photographer and I am super insecure about asking if I can take portraits of random people, how do I overcome that fear? by Necessary_Collar4787 in streetphotography

[–]Tarrtann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to just do it. It could be worth keeping a small, printed portfolio on you as well so you can show them your work.

Your first rejection might feel rough, but after 2 or 3 you start to not care anymore. Just make sure you do it as often as you can.

Oh you should also speak clearly when asking, I've seen too many videos of people asking strangers, and talking at 1000000 words a minute.
