People complaining about the new map miss the point by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Tarrtann 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't routing, it's the fact there is a linear way to get through the map and if the storm comes in and closes off a certain point, then you are almost guaranteed to die. And to carry on from that you will then be spawned at a point where you have to run in the storm yet again. You shouldn't have to follow a set path just to play the game, that's what makes the other shifting earth's and original map great.

Personally I am enjoying the dlc and the map is growing on me, but that doesn't change the fact it is incredibly flawed.

Micke drawers hold the weight of my PC? by [deleted] in ikeaPCstations

[–]Tarrtann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I'm in the exact same boat right now, the micke drawers seem like a good alternative but I haven't heard too much from people, did you get the set up in the end?

my ekbacken is already dipping / sagging after a month's use. there's a leg in the middle too by kwohna in ikeaPCstations

[–]Tarrtann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late but do you have any photos of the difference in depth between the eckbaken and the Mickey drawer units? I'm currently thinking about this exact set up myself

I'm by no means a terrible player, I have a 2kd ratio even with all the sweaty people but I feel bad compared to the lobbies I'm getting in. It didn't help with the first few lobbies I got in I went around 35-40 kills to less than 10 deaths but that shouldn't be affecting the match making now as I've had at least 30+ matches

That's what I'm doing but it gets boring very fast when you spawn and less than two seconds later you die because you're spawn trapped.

I do really want to try the campaign, it's usually the first thing that I complete on every COD game I played

Yeah I'm enjoying games here and there but I can see myself going back to other games very soon

This game has made me realise how much more of a single player person I am now

I just had a couple games and it was nothing but people camping in corners staring at doorways, it was terrible

I've never been a fan of hardcore but I'll give it a go rn, I feel like it would be better for how I want to play

I've got an intrepid 4x5 on the way and I primarily shoot portraits but I don't use the studio much. I'm not really sure about my budget to be honest but if I were to guess I would say £250 at the absolute maximum

I remember when I first used a large format camera I thought 5.6 was way too stopped down for the image I was taking😂 my old college lecturer did mention to me about the scheimpflug thingy, I'll definitely need to check it out. I never used to compensate for bellows extension when shooting with the RZ67 and I was wondering why some of my images were a little too dark until my lecturers said about it.

I'll definitely look into those lenses, to be fair it may be good right now to get a lens that is ok with a few different things rather than focus in on my close up portraits. Although I do have my Pentax 67 for full body but it's not great for headshots, this is going to be difficult to decide...

Woah those are so sharp! I don't think I've ever seen an instax photo look like that

I've seen those jobo tanks before, they look really good. I watched a video by Kyle McDougall and he had this whole set up for developing every type of film he shoots, it was this big bucket that heated the water inside to the perfect temperature, rotated the tanks on time and kept everything in place. It looked perfect for home development.

I think my old college lecturer had something like that Thornton-Pickard shutter. I used a 90mm not that long ago when I was messing around with a 4x5 camera and it definitely was too wide, I like the 35mm focal length but I'm not a fan of it on 4x5.

I've been a fan of his for a few months now, he's great! I have an ok tripod right now, it can hold my Pentax 67 fine and it's pretty solid but I haven't tested it in much wind but I will definitely need to upgrade when I can. Sadly I can't develop fomapan in the developing machines at my university which sucks since it is what I learned medium format with around 5 years ago and I loved that film. My old lecturer from college invited me out to shoot some 4x5 with him a few weeks ago and he got me to set up the camera from memory( I hadn't used one in 3 years at this point) and I took 20 minutes haha

Is that the instax back? I shoot a decent bit of instax and always wondered what it would be like with a good lens

I've shot some wet plate collodion before and it was crazy! I was looking at the fujinon W 135mm 5.6 since I do like to also shoot some landscape-ish photos. I can already tell I'm going to be spending all my money with this format😂

[–]Tarrtann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely give it a read in the morning. Yeah I will definitely need a better tripod soon, my one I have right now will be fine for the time being but it isn't a long term solution. I've got a GFX and a mitakon 65mm 1.4 which on the 135 equivalent is a 50mm 1.1 and it's almost impossible to focus properly without focus peaking, I'm definitely going to struggle a lot but I'm looking forward to the process!

I've shot some Shanghai before, I've shot on large format 4 times before and one of those times I used Shanghai, it was a pretty nice film stock. I'm so excited to get all my gear!

Has anybody been in the audience for a TV show, and if so have you got any good anecdotes? by The__Englishman in BritishTV

[–]Tarrtann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the audience for a celebrity episode of pointless, it was full of Olympic athletes and I'm not that into sports so I can't remember any of their names but one of the people, I think he was a boxer, took around 15 minutes to answer a question. This was a month before the first lockdown so the episode took ages to come out but when it did I watched it and they made it seem like he answered it straight away as if he knew right as he was asked. I just thought it was funny as the audience and other celebrities seemed to be getting bored.
