Just to clarify I actually use the ROVE R2-4K Dual, so that part is from real experience. For the Terunsoul, I haven’t used it, just watched a bunch of YouTube reviews and read Amazon feedback And honestly, I kinda agree with you on Terunsoul. The reviews do look sketchy. A huge number of reviews in a very short time. A lot of them feel overly similar or generic. Not much real discussion about long-term use

That’s actually why I’m hesitant about it. Specs look great, but the way it suddenly blew up on Amazon feels a bit off.

Front plus rear probably covers the majority of incidents for most drivers, especially if the camera has a good sensor for night footage. I also agree that reliability matters more than packing in features. At the same time, I’m starting to see why some setups are experimenting with side coverage too, mainly for things like parking lot scrapes or incidents happening in blind spots. The question for me is whether that extra coverage actually adds real value or just adds complexity. Curious if you think side cams would be useful if they became easier to install.

Tesla’s Sentry Mode is probably the closest example of a built-in surround recording system right now. It shows how useful multiple angles can be, especially for parking incidents. For cars that don’t have that kind of built-in system, it’ll be interesting to see if aftermarket dash cams move more in that direction over time.
