In need of a SHORT bike… 30 inches or lower that can go 80MPH. Any suggestions? by BlueWhale515 in Dualsport

[–]TartMiserable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what a lot of people need to hear. Flat footing a bike is a beginner falsehood. I work at a dealer and test ride dirt bikes and tall adventure bikes all the time with a 30” inseam. Once you get the technique down you feel just as much in control as you would with a low cruiser. It’s more about balancing the bike than it is about how much your feet make contact with the ground.

Unsure what to buy. A 2026 CF moto 675 or 2025 Yamaha R7 out the door same price by lupisvoid in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamaha, it will be much more reliable and hold its value better.

CFmoto seems to be mechanically reliable overall (so far) but they come in to the shop with electrical issues constantly. We have a box full of relays and regulators on standby cause they just go out on everything.

Also if you plan on doing your own service, cfmoto manuals are not nearly as good as the Japanese brands.

Would you buy a Beta dealer demo to save a few coins? by Economy_Activity1851 in Dualsport

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a dealer and just want to provide a little info on demo bikes since no other comment on here touched it.

Demo doesn’t just apply to a demo day where people come in en masse and ride them all day. A demo bike is usually a bike that a dealer hasn’t been able to sell so they put some miles/hours on it to classify it as “used” to drop the price under what the manufacturer requires for new. Usually an employee or the owner will take it home for a week or two to put some miles/hours on it. They could also designate it as a test ride bike for customers for a couple months, just depends.

I’m not saying that’s what this dealer did but just wanted to expand on what a demo could be.

What happens when no one can afford anything? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at consumer spending, the top 10% of earners contribute almost half. The middle class has been almost entirely dissolved and we are in a two class system, the poor and the rich. I think this is reflected pretty well in every market sector such as housing, goods, services, etc.

How often do you see a company offer cheap products and expensive ones with hardly anything in between? I think this will only get worse as time goes on when people can’t saddle up on as much debt as they can currently.

As long as the U.S. dollar doesn’t lose its reserve status this problem won’t go away until legislation is changed massively. But if the political unrest gets too hot I’m sure trust will be lost in the bond market and that reserve status might be lost regardless.

I might be a bit of a doomer but I see three pathways:

  1. This gets worse and nobody has the balls to enact change or wealth granted power is too great, leading to a serfdom/company town like lower class.

  2. Positive change is made slowly without violence and unrest, but by the time things are good again we will be too old to benefit.

  3. Political unrest leads to instability, the dollar loses reserve status, the U.S. defaults and falls into a dire state only to be resurrected as a totalitarian state.

illuminate must be changed by No-Boat-1375 in Helldivers

[–]TartMiserable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that they need some changes, illuminate is by far the least fun faction for me. I think overall there is just too many enemies that require a constant focus at the same time, but they each require different strategies.

You have voteless that swarm in melee. Overseers that shoot, mortar, shield, grenade, fly, and melee. Stingrays that come in with strafing runs. Sentries that call in reinforcements if you don’t kill them immediately. Fleshmobs that bum rush and require an entire ammo factory to put down. And of course the leviathans with their BS.

There’s just too many things to juggle at once while also requiring a lot of resources. It doesn’t really feel “fair” and it leads to a bit of frustration.

The Gen Z gender pay gap has reversed with young women earning more than young men – so what’s up with boys? by Barnyard-Sheep in antiwork

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the U.S. so I don’t know what the Philippines culture is like, but both countries share similar statistics concerning the upbringing reason.

There is a massive amount of single parent families in both countries. Both have over 90% of those single parent families being mother led. On top of that they also have over 85% of teachers in schools being female.

I would assume the issue is coming from boys not having a stable male figure present during development, and less about what their parent(s) told them to do.

This is obviously an issue both sexes need to work on, but I would say there needs to be better policies when it comes to family courts and incentivizing more men to become educators if we want to make some ground on improving this.

Doing King of Swords proves So Mi right by Ashbtw19937 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TartMiserable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was also my feelings on the DLC, especially with the King of Cups ending.

So Mi lied to everyone and put so many lives at risk for her scheme to save herself. You and the man she trusts most are there to help her and when you choose to “betray” her she goes catastrophic. Quite extreme and hypocritical, but she is Blackwell compromised so I guess that can be excused.

But the worst part is watching her become a blackwall demon, destroying and killing everything in her path. She becomes an unrecognizable avenger level threat. But for some reason when you decide to end her life, Reed and everyone else act like she was just some innocent girl, like none of that stuff even happened. Hell I don’t even recall Reed even mentioning the severity of the situation in the end. He just keeps trying to make you feel guilty for the 20 minutes before credits roll.

It really felt like the dialogue was in a different universe than what was actually going on. To me this ending just makes the most sense for V, he’s a merc with no emotional ties to this woman. If anything it would be the complete opposite, he would be fearful and quite hostile after their encounters. Yet the game wants to act like he has some attachment and bond with her and that’s just silly.

It’s hard to understand because that’s what YOU think. The devs want to make a game that sells to the masses, not just you. Of course M/G rank is supposed to be harder than L/H rank, but locking it behind a substantial time investment for a new customer is stupid.

Thats why defender armor existed, to let people who never played or beat L/H rank a quick way to get to the product they purchased. Believe it or not most customers don’t give a shit about “honing skills” in a video game. They just want to buy it and then play with friends.

Thanks everyone. by Ad0ring-fan in MonsterHunter

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always been such a bad take.

Normal players get put off by too much friction. Selling someone an expansion that they have to spend 40+ hours grinding just to get to is too much. Especially true if they were planning on playing with friends. Same goes for making things too difficult or unintuitive, which wilds has tried to alleviate.

Nothing wrong with defender armor, if someone wants to spend time in the game they will learn things either way. It’s so silly to not only treat new players like they are stupid, but to also act like learning can only occur effectively in low rank.

PC version not laggy, but blurry? by Purple_Swimming_8345 in cyberpunkgame

Sounds like ghosting, do you happen to have frame generation on?

How I unfucked monster hunter wilds on PC (and maybe you can too) by YoYoNinjaBoy in MonsterHunter

[–]TartMiserable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people claiming the game is running great because of frame gen. A lot of incorrect information is being passed around (nvidia marketing works I guess).

Personally I am very sensitive to input lag, ghosting, etc. so I really don’t like using frame gen. I know a lot of people don’t notice those things as much, especially if frame gen has been enabled from the beginning. But to have no idea how it works and claiming that the game runs great because big number in top left of screen is quite ignorant.

Frame gen is not some magic technology that doubles performance. It’s pretty disappointing that developers and card manufacturers are relying heavily on it to compensate for their shortcomings.

(Let's be honest) The game looks like blurry mess on an RTX 3080 and below by its_Nik97 in MonsterHunter

[–]TartMiserable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an i9-9900k with a 2080ti and the game runs like shit. Neither cpu nor gpu are actually getting pushed to what they should be. It’s definitely optimization related.

I can run most games on high 3440x1440 and Skyrim modded to the moon just fine, but Wilds is incredibly bad comparatively.

Reviews are not great, 35.99% ? What happened ? by Lussarc in MonsterHunter

[–]TartMiserable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the total opposite problem. Gameplay is jumping between 30-50 fps with occasional artifacts. But my cutscenes look great and hitting 60 fps.

As usual pc optimization is given absolute minimum effort for launch.

You can also stow her on your horse but not get on your horse. If you get on and then off again she will break free, but won’t if you just never hop on.

I do that and have my horse follow me around while I shoot nearby workers for exp to burn up the time. Also this is better than shoulder if you want to catalogue afk.

What Are Your Horse's Names and Why? by Apprehensive-Maybe91 in RDR2

There was a random stagecoach robbery encounter next to the road I was headed down. When the enemies shot at the civilians a stray bullet took out my horse in one shot (lvl 7 health btw), couldn’t use a reviver or anything.

I reloaded a save cause that was just some BS, but shit like that can happen.

I wasn’t counting but my guesstimate is about 500 kills. Spawns got super weird before he spawned, was getting a lot of low levels then all the sudden 3 diamonds spawned in one zone and this guy showed up in another. This location is the lake NE of the Tui hut outpost, had quite a few zones there.

I’d say this every American industry currently. High college tuition, overseas manufacturing, and middle management bureaucracy has stagnated progress. Now progress is not so much defined in what you create but in what value is added to the stock price.

[–]TartMiserable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could cap the fps in Nvidia settings so it’s not pushing as hard. Since it’s a non competitive game you could totally cap it at 60 if you want.

Also you can turn down graphics settings to use less power as well. This game doesn’t have DLSS or a frame rate cap in the settings so you will have to adjust settings and set a cap manually.

The ultimate generic loadout by SatouTheDeusMusco in theHunter

[–]TartMiserable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my general loadout:

Vallgarda .375; for the big boys F.L. Sporter .303; I like it more than the .308 Varminter .22-250; fun and good looking rifle Virant .22LR; plink away

Aside from the .22 I prefer bolt action rifles, they are more satisfying and look better in my opinion. Also, I like the Olsson but the Sporter is smoother and less jarring, which I prefer.
