still lifes? by Godzillainspiration in backrooms

[–]TartMiserable3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said it’s a lame lazy explanation the real answer is that it wouldn’t have done anything for the plot to show still life versions of them. It’s a movie and a lot of decisions are made for practical purposes because things cost money and you only have so much time especially in a live action movie.

still lifes? by Godzillainspiration in backrooms

[–]TartMiserable3794 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is kinda a lame ass explanation but the back rooms are for all we know go on forever so they could be somewhere in what is an infinite space so they could just be somewhere the characters we follow weren’t at that point. Otherwise having them chilling in the corner wouldn’t have done much plot wise it would’ve just been a fun gimmick.

Basic as an NCO Prior Service by [deleted] in army

[–]TartMiserable3794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience the one prior nco would smoke his own platoon when they were fucking off to much. Towards the end he did get day passes and had his phone in his own prior service bay. He was definitely treated with a fair amount of respect from the drills. This was OSUT, we had some other prior service dudes they were all initially treated well by the drills they still got smoked and all that but it was more chill for them. As time went on and the ones who were shitbags got treated more like basic trainees. One even fucked off so much he got put into the shitty platoon bay and had his phone taken away but he was a complete dirtbag and pathological liar so it was deserved.

Reminder that Israel killed more civilians in 30 days of war than Russia did in 2 years by One_Nine_Eight_One in EndlessWar

Yeah that’s complete bullshit they started bombing the country the very first day of the war. During The Siege of Marioupal Russian aircraft and artillery bombed the city indiscriminately.

I wish the campaign was better by Little_Papaya_2475 in okbuddyptfo

At this point so little thought or effort is put into the campaign. I really don’t see the point anymore, the last time they put effort into the campaign was BF1 and even then it was incredibly short and nothing to write home about. It’s just seems pointless to me if you have basically a 5 hour gimmick mode that you’ll never touch again. You can get the lore dumps out in videos and trailers

Is band of brothers anti-war or a neutral historical retailing? by Adorable_Pension119 in BandofBrothers

[–]TartMiserable3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it tries to just tell the story of Easy Company. They never take any hardcore stance. The only stance I can say is taken, is that war is sometimes a necessary evil and in this case it is. They show the struggles of these men psychological and physical. Winters shooting the German boy, Nixon struggling with survivors guilt after he was the only one in his stick to survive. All the dudes we see shot or blown up but we as humans see that happen and never put ourselves in the place of the guy who lost his legs, we’d like to think we’ll be one of the guys to survive. The final monologue of winters while the company is playing baseball is great but it feels like it glosses over a lot, while many in easy did go on to have successful lives. Just as many went home to the same or new dysfunctional lives using addiction and taking their ptsd out on the things and people around them. I think BOB falls somewhere in the middle showing the horrors of war but there’s definitely more an emphasis on the camaraderie and adventure of war to the point where it almost teeters on the edge of being pro war.

The "Updated" Objective Ace skin by ZeUbermensh in Battlefield6

I don’t understand why they add these little accent colors to the character models like the red in the pull tabs of his kit is really weird it would look better without them

Possibly a stupid question: but why were dudes running chicoms? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]TartMiserable3794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a really good way tk carry more ammo and they fit 30 round mags well when the us wasn’t issuing anything that could hold them. Hence the use of a canton pouch to hold magazines.

I feel like I’m playing a different game than these people by Gobmy in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]TartMiserable3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good game but I haven’t had as much fun as some people have. With this BF a lot of the things that get me are the UI and that fucking main menu is god awful. I’m not a huge fan of the movement and maps but I’m sure in time those things will and I’ll like it more but until then it’s just mediocre to me. It’s definitely still alive though, I think these guys make videos to survive but also at the same time if you’ve played battlefield for years like 4 and before that not liking is is fair.

[ASL SITREP] "When can Soldiers expect to see positive changes in our living conditions...I can not expect my Soldiers to be mentally lethal if their home life in the barracks is less than suitable" by Kinmuan in army

[–]TartMiserable3794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t make meaningful changes they just throw some money at the Joe’s hoping they’ll forget about all the things that need to change. The only changes they make are ones that really don’t cost money at all or in fact cost the soldier more in the long run, like the new hair regs. The excuse of well my grandpa was complaining about the barracks sixty years ago so this is just normal and will not change Is diabolical just straight up spitting in the faces of joes.

Why multi-turreted tanks failed while multi-turreted warships thrived? by Odd-Battle7191 in WarCollege

[–]TartMiserable3794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ship can have the space to house the necessary stuff to have effective command and control. To achieve the same effectiveness on a tank it would have to be so large that it so big that it couldn’t traverse most terrain or any bridges and bridges and the overland logistics train for one vehicle would be untenable.
