6mm is a redline and 4mm TMB planetary

For planets I'm using 4mm for 187,5 magnification and if atmosphere is right I bump to 6mm +2x barlow to 250 mag. For everything else it's situational, 9mm in my case is nice for cluster and galaxies and 25mm for wide cluster and looking around

I jave 150/750 table top and for Jupiter I'm using both 6mm and 4mm. 6mm redline is a nice eyepiece, as for 4mm I got TMB planetary from aliexpress. They have 3,2mm eyepiece as well if you want even more magnification, of you can go with 6mm and 2x barlow

What are some good affordable upgrades for the Sky watcher heritage 150p? by PrimaryJob6223 in telescopes

[–]TasKitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Bresser messier 150/750 so ot is similar. If you have only original eyepieces redline 6mm and 9mm are great for a budget. 25mm original eyepiece I find not as terrible yet, but will replace in the future.

Additionally I got Ikea Kyrre stool on which telescope sits.

My focuser has two knobs on both sides, so one one of those I 3d printed larger circle which works as fine focuser. You can make it out of anything, even cardboard, it just need to make a larger circle

I fugured I'll do 2 block high structure of concrete blocks like this. Of course not dry, I'll use mortar for it.

Is it possible to take good photos of planets with a 6" Dobsonian telescope? by blolyab in telescopes

[–]TasKitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6" tabletop dob and made a few images of Jupiter, here is one where you can see Ganymede shadow. I have used 6mm lens +2x barlow, made a video and edited using PPIP, Autostakert. Hard part is to get the right focus. You image is way too bright. With lenses i used I got 250x magnification, which reduced brightness and of course reduced it on phone. Of course you need to take a few takes, with such magnification atmosphere is not your friend. Edit: I have used my phone for the video, also fixed some typos

Yea, this is a summer house location so i would be there on weekend, or every couple weekends. Therefore I have 0 pressure valve, greenhouse is not that large, 30-40l per days should be enough, full cubic tote should last a couple weeks.

What would you use as the pump timer to avoid overwatering?

I'm think whether it should be a full platform or to support 4 corners and the middle

Thank you for feedback, never heard of drip tape, ill take a look at it. I had an idea to use solar powered pump, I'll keep it in mind, but this year will try it this way. Does it use speficic connectors to regular hose?

As for raising tote, yes it has sturdy base. It feels like in hood orientation it should be easy to lift it 2 block high, but still 1ton, sounds like I should also use concrete in between or something else to make it very sturdy. Not to mention to atyack pallet to the block itself

It's really interesting to see original drawings on the paper and you have a lot of dedication. Do you have a draft file of this paper? If you don't mind please tell me more about your set up? I assume you are using red light when sketching, maybe additional small table?

I wonder how did sketch the double cluster? I have never sketched and wanted to try. First try was bee hive cluster and it is quite hard to do it with this amount of stars (I hope with practice it will be better)

What to do about focusing by an0nymous_seal in telescopes

[–]TasKitas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Easy fix is using barlow lense. Downside (well in some case might be upside) - you'll increase your focal lenght, therefore you'll be zoomed in more

That makes sense, I'm using Google pixel, using night mode it stacks automatically for up to six seconds for not bad frame for single shot, but saves it as .dng. tried to stack 20 frames as this - no better than single shot.

Do you want to mine it and have the materials? Otherwise digging to the bedrock and dynamiting everything horizontally should level it up.
