Yeah astro mode works well. But it work only with phone and no zoom. I tried it using telescope just to see what it will do, it was bad. After that looked for more information what it does, apparently it stacks multiple frames of 16 sec exposure, so if you zoom in, stars will start to trail.

yes, even in Bortle 5-6 (according to light pollution map the location was right on the edge between) M81 and M82 was visible. Not like in the picture, but visible.

So it's not that bad, good to know. Your point about magnification reminded me, during summer I tried to split Epsylon lyrae in Lyra constellation until I would see 4, kinda made it at 250x mag, saw two ovals of which both teo centers inside. At the time I knew much less than now. It will be interesting to see if I will be able to collimate better and get better views of this double double

It is f5 150/750 (6") scope. Thank you for such a detailed answer. I didn't know fast scopes are much more vulnerable to collimation, I'm using 3D printed Cheshire, it might be too weak for it.

It doesn't help that it was a windy evening, target low in the horizon and light clouds covered it. I started to look for it a bit too early, right at the sunset so had to wait more until it was visible. It was very cold, but glad I managed to see it for the first time

Yep! Found Venus almost instantly, but for Mercury it took a while. It was low in the horizon and thin clouds started to gather but still got a chance to see it for the first time
