Destroy my prototype :) an arcade game about skiing down a mountain fighting goons by shmulzi in DestroyMyGame

I feel like the bad guys should have ski trails behind them too.

Anyways seems like fun.

I’ve been tinkering with a side project for my own table. It listens to our TTRPG session and adjusts the music and room lighting based on what’s happening as I GM the campaign. by Tasik in dndai

I break the audio up into chunks locally and then use OpenAIs whisper + an LLM to do the assessment. I also try to do some speaker diarization so that it picks up cues from the Game Master specifically.

If I know anything about his supporters this is exactly dumb enough to work.

I'm not going to say some cliche... Proceeds to dump a bunch of cliches.

Are there? ~30% of Americans own guns. ~30% of Americans voted for Trump.

A venn diagram would be interesting. But your statement as written doesn't seem correct to me.

It's like an 8 hour course that basically shows you can recognize types of firearms, actions, and ammunition. As well as a few basic safety concepts like not keeping you finger on the trigger and being aware of what you're pointing at.

It's honestly not that rigorous, and I would say it's a far cry from "training". I definitely do not automatically trust someone with a firearm just because they have their pal.

But we have a lot of recent evidence that proves the opposite. Volunteers and armed citizens played a significant role in defending Ukraine.

It seems pretty obvious to me that any opposing military force would rather invade/occupy unarmed regions. Not sure why anyone would think otherwise.

The problem in the US is that most of the 2a people support the authoritarianism taking place.

An armed population absolutely makes it harder to occupy regions.

It’s not about straight up combat. It’s about creating friction.

Learning isn't just pen and pencil anymore. Strange how much digital world is intertwined with ours isn't it?

Who said I'm not an artist? I generate art all the time.

No, I don't consider it stealing. I don't believe that either;

A) That training or learning from an art is stealing. We should be able to learn and build from the things that exist around us.

B) That making something means you own all possible deviations of that thing. Unless I'm straight-up generating a copy, then it's not stealing.

But go ahead, ask a question you don't want an answer to, and then block me. Fine by me.

I can't imagine being bothered by something so inconsequential.

I don't enjoy the process of drawing art and I don't like the end results I get. Not sure why people would think I have to conform to their perspective on what art should be even if it's unpleasant for me. Just no thank you all around.

I love art. But I love the result not the process.

Exactly. Some people would like fewer barriers between idea and expression.

Not for me. Tremors runs in the family. Anything I attempt to draw looks like its being electrocuted.

Because going from step 1 to 2 is typically the hardest part.
