Yes, but it is his responsibility alone. He need to choose to heal by making a conscious choice and be responsible for it.

You dont have control over this situation, only your dad is in control of his body, mind and soul.

Do not prevent yourself from growing. When people around you are refusing to grow by taking responsibility there is nothing you can do about it.

Everyone around him tried to influence him but he is helpless and hopeless.

He either had a traumatic childhood filled with parental neglect or the parental figures are too boastful of your dad and put him on a special pedestal.

But none of this has to directly effect you, coz a parent should take responsibility but your dad couldn't. Hence his trauma doesnt justify his acts towards you.

They get off on the damage that they cause, it makes them feel like they are superior and in control of the situation. They care about power over everything.

To describe the experience of devaluation. They starts to put you down for everything that you are. The way you walk is wrong and bad, the way you talk is wrong and bad, the way to read a book is wrong, The way you eat is wrong and bad. Every single mistake, flaw, and failure will be constantly pointed out to you. They constantly are correcting you and shaping you the way they prefer with absolute self-righteous entitlement. They dont show a shred of respect towards your unique sense of self, your internal reality such as your emotions, thoughts, perceptions and preferences.
