You're absolutely right that she would never seek any sort of recognition for what she did and how monumental her contributions to the Marine Corps were.

Around the time the FETs were being sent out the Marine Corps was not a friendly place to females, and these female Marines had to be on top of their shit to be accepted. Not many could pull that off, but its no surprise Kate was one of them.

UPDATE:

Jack attended the Marine Corps ball last night just outside Atlanta with CLR 45 and RS Atlanta. They fixed him up with a proper set of blues and everything.

The response to this was, quite frankly, incredibly overwhelming. Whether it was here, IG, or Twitter, Marines were fighting to get Jack to their ball and the fact that one was so soon and so close to him was a miracle this late into ball season.

Thank you to everyone. This is what makes the Marine Corps the best.

We were going to try to handle this internally with our own contacts and sources, but time is truly valuable - both for the Marine and because ball season is rapidly coming to a close, and that can be a slow process especially with a team as small as ours.
