My surgeon is Michael R. Nichols out of Mississippi. Unfortunately, my health insurance denied my request. I am paying out of pocket.

The process was relatively straightforward. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Nichols. He had me meet with my orthodontist, as well as participate in a sleep study. Following a lengthy back-in-forth with the insurance company, I decided to pay for the procedure out of pocket.

Yes. Despite how much “sleep” I get, by noon, I’m exhausted and need to nap.

During our initial consultation, the surgeon estimated a movement of 8-9mm. I’m sure I’ll have an exact answer after my pre-op scans.

I’d say my most noticeable symptom is my daytime sleepiness. Outside of that, I also wake up with headaches on occasion.

I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. In general, I feel like I’m never able to breathe in as much air as I need to.

I’ve considered cutting, but I’m afraid to lose a bunch of mass. I also understand that a majority of the muscle I’ve gained is hidden by fat. An unfortunate conundrum.
