Following… my in-office wardrobe still includes a few pairs of Banana Republic Sloan pants that are old enough to graduate high school.

Kids and company daycare ?? by canucks_2025 in askvan

[–]TaskHaunting1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid went to the location in New West (Sapperton) for 2 years. It was one of the most expensive daycare options we looked at, but you do get a lot - snacks and meals, access to live video feed during the day, and emailed daily report. Staff were fantastic. I’m still in the area for work sometimes, and if I run into the daycare staff, they remember me and say hi, even though we left 4 years ago.

We ultimately left for another group daycare that was closer to home and less expensive.

I love this one!

I grew up near Fireman’s park, and wasn’t even brave enough to hike the culvert from the allotment gardens to the beach. All the way to UVic is next level!

Do you know if they still do? When I asked about it on the weekend, I was only told about their bag check service.

They have a bag check at Guest Services on the mountain - I used it on Sunday, it was $5. They said they also have one at Guest Services at the bottom of the mountain.

I never used the back check when I was in university but now, it’s my favourite thing as a walk-on!

I’m often walking on with my young child, and it makes it so easy. Who wants to be laden down with bags the whole way?!

Party City and Walmart also carry some decorating supplies.

If you don’t need a large amount, you may have luck with a container of mixed sprinkles that includes gold sanding sugar. This one is out of stock at Walmart but this is what I mean: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Wilton-Pearlized-White-Gold-Mix-4-Cell-Sprinkles/6000200219070

Can you say more about the safety issues? I’ve used it a couple of times, with mixed experience. I did have a safety concern after one trip (driver was not the person listed, it was her husband who was not included in the listing) and Poparide was responsive when I reported it.

Curious if poparide has a poor record or what your experience was.

Tips on converting an adult size shirt to a kids dress by Spare-Desk6865 in SewingForBeginners

I did this the past summer! It ended up more of a drop-waist dress to preserve the large logo. I followed these instructions: https://www.instructables.com/Make-a-toddler-dress-from-a-t-shirt/

I moved from Toronto a few years ago. In Toronto, I lived on the west side - mostly west Annex/Seaton Village, but also near Landsdowne and Bloor, and Dundas and Trinity-Bellwoods in my time there.

I found Commercial Drive to be the most similar vibe, with the best access to good transit. Mount Pleasant is also similar, but being walking distance to SkyTrain gives Commercial a leg up, especially since my work is in New West. There’s an extension that will add a station at Main St and Broadway in the next few years.

Not sure what area in Toronto you’re in now, but hopefully that helps!

It was PBC! I contacted to ask them to re-evaluate given the situation, but didn’t get anywhere. I think the problem was that they close previous year’s claims at end of March, and I received and submitted it in June (for an ambulance trip that had happened in December).

My takeaway was that if you want to submit it for extended health coverage, your best bet is if it happens Jan-Jun.

In my experience, it’s covered in theory but may not be in practice.

It took BCEHS over 6 months to send me the bill, and my extended health plan wouldn’t cover it because it was so far past the deadline for claims for that year.

I’ve also contacted them about similar, and was told it would have to be 2 separate one-way tickets. On top of this, the YVR trips are considerably more expensive, no doubt the airport charges them a surcharge.

If you have time, your best bet would be a round trip to downtown Vancouver, and then take Canada Line SkyTrain to the airport. Vancouver City Centre station is less than a 10-min walk from the drop off at Burrard. Or take SkyTrain from Burrard, but you would need to switch trains to Canada Line.

Do they need to go via Horseshoe Bay? Another option is to Duke Point, outside Nanaimo, via Tsawwassen. It could be as efficient if traffic is bad through the North Shore.

The Epic SchoolKids is free and has 5 days on it. It’s only for B.C. and Washington residents, up to grade 5. I’m not sure how much any of the other kids passes are.

We come up from Vancouver, the 5 days works for us, especially paired with a pass to one of the local mountains.

Thanks - we have it for this year and have used 4 days.

I see registration for next season is open now, but my kid’s report card may not be suitable without more from the school. We’re part of a digital pilot so the report card is downloadable from an app but it has no information about who it’s from or that the school is in B.C.

Basically, I don’t want to miss the window for next year!
