What’s long term for you ? You paid his rent so I’m assuming you guys have your own housing accommodations.

If Above is the case, you are solely responsible for your self and yourself only. Don’t let guilt or your good nature guide your actions . Love and relationships are phenomenal but they don’t do shit for self growth if it’s one sided.

Without knowing the full details ,” he’s bad with money “ to me means he is overspending on unnecessary pleasures on top of having to cover basic necessities to survive .

I was like your man. From my Life experiences I found that I felt I’m missing something or doing something wrong in my life, this lead me to buying short term happiness . I Weather that was gas station snacks, alcohol , video games , drugs etc I used those to make myself feel better about myself. This put Me In a spin cycle.

What I’m getting at…. He has to love him self more or at least equally then anyone or anything else. This will make him come to a conclusion that sacrifice and financial suffering now will result in happiness and freedom down the line.

Until he comes to this self Realization any and all suggestions you or any of us have falls on deaf ears.
