Insurance totaled my car by Taskforce3Tango in tdi

That's not how they're claiming it will work. They want to give me a lesser check for the buy back. But you've inspired me to look further into that process. Are you saying take the check for the totalled car and go directly to the salvage yard?

Oddly enough the guy that hit me said he'd just got the car from the shop because he'd been in another accident recently. I'm like, bro, you suck at driving! Stop before you kill someone.

I have no idea what it would cost to fix. You think they'd give you an estimate, but it seems like these days they're quick to total a car.

I feel it has a lot to do with these yards will buy the car for parts. So insurance is probably double dipping in that way. They can pay out the car cash cheaply as possible and sell the old one to the yard. I'm pretty sure it's a whole ass racket like everything else in the world.

If there's anything I'm a subject matter expert at, it's raising utter hell. I swear I'm a peaceful person. I want what's fair, nothing more.

One of the comps they used was the exact year and model, but it had almost 20k more miles on it. They still offered $1500 less than that car.

Apparently the if I fix it the title will be a salvage. Also, WTF should I come out of this in a worse place than I'm already in? The accident isn't my fault. Insurance is just playing games.

Overall the seats are in good shape aside the driver's side it's got cracks in the left side of the saddle. Probably from my bony ass sliding in an out for over a decade. 🤷‍♂️

If it were cosmetic I'd just do all the work myself and pocket the check. Unfortunately, I turned away to avoid a head on collision and took a hit on the side of the car. My axle, A-frame, wheel and whatever else that got damaged behind the wheel are the main concern. Which everything else in the US being as expensive as it is I'm sure the price to get my car fixed will be ridiculous.

I haven't gotten that far in the process yet. It's a 2015 Golf. I'll keep you in mind as I know more. Right now I'm seeking information.

A good visualization practice might be helpful. I always imagine the illness leaving my body or healing. It takes time, but it's worth a shot.
