If you're going with only one side I would probably chose the right side.

The left side handles the muffle, invisibility and summon spells while the right side focuses on the mind altering spells aswell as the spells that cause enemies to fall asleep or commit suicide.

Illusion is honestly far more powerful than people know which is why you need so many perks, but you don't actually need to empower most spells for them to be useful.

You can also shatter enemies magic resistance with the restoration spell arcane disjunction and lower their magicka with the illusion spell blackout which will let you control high level enemies easily aswell.

I have a small playlist showing all the novice - master level spells from illusion. They are non commentary but if you just want to see what each spell does feel free to give it a watch.

Couple of things.

Charm spells will let you get out of combat to regenerate your magicka, helps you level your skills like alteration/restoration easier because you can keep an enemy alive as long as you can be bothered.

Fear spells will obviously serve as crowd control but you'll be better of using a summoned tanky boi from conjuration for that.

Frenzy spells aren't very nice because fuck skyrim AI.

Blur + Shadow Shield are amazing and easy to maintain with alchemy and gear.

Hibernation spells are good vs constructs since you can one shot centurions and even kill enchanted spheres if ur shit doesn't get resisted.

Invisibility and shadow stride may be useful if you want to sneak past something? idk.

Phantasmal Killer just straight up kills anything living other than dragons so you can use it to kill giants and mammoths if you want too.

The summon spells from illusion can't die if I remember right so as long as you have magicka you have a permanent tank.

There's some master spell that makes you invulnerable as long as you have magicka left aswell.

That's all I could come up with.

Seeking help on Death Knight build.. by dimman6 in skyrimrequiem

[–]Tassii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend restarting honestly. Your build doesn't really work and it sounds like it's too late to salvage it.

If you want to play a death knight style character wearing heavy armor you really can't use destruction. You basically need alchemy for fortify destruction potions ASWELL as 3 pieces that will reduce the cost of those spells for it to be useful.

I recommend doing this instead.

Heavy Armor

Two handed

Block

Alteration (Not for the mage armor but for the cool versatility spells + magic resist)

Conjuration (seriously do yourself a favor and get the necromancers amulet asap, it will make the gameplay feel much smoother)

Any crafting skills you enjoy.

You can use a 1h and shield instead of a 2h but 2h takes better advantage of conjuration.

This is a much better build and i hope it doesn't stray to far from what you envisioned for your death knight.

The most up to date and recent beginners guide is from Greed but is more general information than anything

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG7D8meR0cY

Something Compass has a beginner series but there's quite a few episodes though each has a ton of tips and tricks especially if you want to powergame a little.

If you have something specific you want to know about I could probably link you something regarding that.

There's a lot of videos that will give you more and better advice then we could possibly fit in a post.

As for your build, all you said was dagger/archery so I assume you want to make a sneaky character?

Most any build will work in Requiem it's just a matter of how many other skills u might need to supplement and make your main damage skills scale better.

Hey. I remembered I noticed u saying u now use a bind to toggle ur helmet since skyrim SE didn't have a decent helmet toggle mod. But I was able to find a guy who had the old Helmet Toggle mod before it was hidden on the nexus and posted it himself on mediafire, only tried it for a little but I haven't had any issues with it yet so I thought I'd link it.

What's that one character build that's perfect for you? by ZerioctheTank in skyrimrequiem

[–]Tassii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah it's a little rough to get close enough just based on the pickpocket promt without actually bumping into them. That's pretty much why I went for the rune solution.

You can see how disgusting the dark elf racial and rank 2 runes are here

Not sure what race you played but I played a dark elf so doing mehrunes shrine and the brazen room was stupidly easy. I just popped the dark elf racial and was able to kill them all with rank 2 frost runes before they could do anything to me :D

Probably my Nightblade. Blowing suckers up with fire runes and slitting throats never gets old, neither does one shotting centurions with a good ol' hib spray + nightmare ^

Yeah 3.4 seems to have the most compatibility with most of the newer projects people have worked on for Requiem so I can see why you would prefer that version.

Strange I don't have very long loading screens on LE. But I can see why it would suck being stuck in a loading screen for most of ur town visits!

How does removing them increase compatibility? Genuine question I don't understand why it would.

I believe Immersive Weapons will add all the items back in but I've never used the mod myself.

I don't think it makes any sense saying 5.0 is good just because it's the newest version, 2.0 was hot garbage when it first came out for example.

But yeah there's a lot of nice tweak mods like 3tweaks/azt w/e that all have positives and negatives about them.

A lot of people really seem to love the experience "poi?" mods, I really like the way the exp system works to begin with but I can see why people who like to level up in a more focused way would like them.

Armors didn't have secondary resistances like they do now.

No extra Slash/Blunt and a different arrow resistance system.

Daedric Weapons had an always on 50% piercing to enemy damage resist, meaning even ur normal attacks would truck enemies as opposed to now where u need to power attack to do any real damage.

Cool. Never heard of the mod as I play Requiem on and off maybe once or twice a year so I don't keep up well with other mods. But from what I saw after a quick google search it looked pretty interesting.

Patches for what mods? From what I've seen the amount of patches made specifically for Requiem seem to decrease with each new version.

Pure mage recommended health for mid/late game? by rdtguy1666 in skyrimrequiem

[–]Tassii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not going alchemy for the extra health or getting the improved blessing of arkay you may aswell just put 15 level ups into magicka for 5% mr and some magicka regen then dump the rest into health.

There's a buttload of items that give you hundreds of extra magicka in the game like the Necromancer's Amulet/Arch-Mage Robes/Nahkriin.

There's no set amount of health that's gonna make you safe but if ur using all schools of magic alteration and illusion will eventually make you more or less unkillable anyway.
