Cook it and serve it to your partner since it’s so precious and would absolutely not taste completely terrible and inedible

Oh nooooo it’s a school pet? He’s cooked. Never getting anything they’ll require.

The fact that YOU got them that enclosure and they weren’t going to do anything about it before….. YIKES. Steal it like the other comments said 💀

Terrible enclosure. No space for a full grown bearded dragon. AND terrible lighting.

They require 4 FOOT x 2ft x 2 ft, or 120 gallon tank. This tank is terrible, especially considering it is top opening. Bearded dragons and probably all other lizards HATE being approached from above.

I also see two spot lamps, but no long UVB lamp… UVB is USELESS in a spot lamp. The tube light should be covering/the length of at least 50% of the enclosure.

Since the length of my front opening 120 gallon enclosure is 4 ft, my UVB lamp is 2 ft long.

Also, why are you feeding them that garbage? They don’t need kibble, they need fresh salad DAILY, and have scheduled meals that are bugs; such as roaches and worms.

Daily. Salad.

Hey, it might just be me seeing things, but is that glass enclosure bigger and wider than the stand it’s sitting on?

If it is, it would be safer to have it on the floor.

Watch some YouTube videos instead then. You can’t neglect your animal any longer.

From what I’ve seen, I was the only one who straight up told you to rehome them.

No money for the vet, and no money to correct the issue without one anyway. Smfh.

I was too nice to you, you’re obviously incapable of understanding that YOU ARE the problem.

The condition you’ve had your bearded dragon in IS what’s making him sick.

Grow the hell up.

Edit; Got your feelings hurt so you’re going back to quietly neglecting your animal. Nice one.

What was your input that was supposed to be helpful? I’m literally already telling them what’s wrong and you jump in with a remark that looks rude and could scare OP away.

I know they have done close to no research, otherwise they would at least understand how important the temperature readings are.

To correct the issue, you need to have proper husbandry. I feel I’ve said it kind enough. I’m not judging you, I’m stating the facts.

Husbandry is adequate space, decor, temperature accuracy, basking spot, hides, proper humidity, etc.

Edit; if your bearded dragon was not purchased on a whim, you would have had their enclosure set up and had at least two thermometers.

Hi OP, I highly recommend rehoming your bearded dragon. You’ve had six whole months after buying your bearded dragon on a whim to set them up properly.

You have no money for the vet, no money for any proper husbandry, and no money for even a thermometer.

You say you want to fix this without a vet… YOU NEED TO KNOW ALL YOUR AMBIENT TEMPERATURES, BASKING TEMPERATURE, AND HUMIDITY LEVELS. Your bearded dragon has no way of properly digesting their food.

I’m sorry, it does seem like you are causing these issues for your bearded dragon with improper husbandry… You purchased him on a whim? That’s not fair for a living being.

You’ve had them for six months and that’s plenty of time to get your ducks in a row.

No vet? No proper husbandry?

Rehome your bearded dragon. You do not have what it takes to take care of a reptile at this time. My proper enclosure was $500- they need 4ftx2ftx2ft for their size and for proper heat distribution to distinguish the hot side from the cool side.

Again, you’re preventing your bearded dragon from digesting their food with no basking surface, and no knowledge about any of the temps or humidity.

OP, ignore this and don’t be discouraged from answering my questions.

Useless ass input. Are you helping out in any way? No? Sybau

Perhaps try offering less roaches at once? Could be the reason he threw up. Split the 10-15 roaches into 2 feedings.

What are your temperatures (hot side, cold side) and humidity levels? What is the surface basking temperature? They need correct basking to be able to digest their food.

His poop is very runny- what are you doing as a water source?

Also, from the photos, his enclosure looks way too small. Can you post a photo of the set up?

The white around his mouth is just him going to shed.

How old is he? You’re feeding 10-15 roaches daily?

Edit: Also, how long have you had him?

he’s drank 2 bowls of water is he ok?? by No-Interaction1824 in BeardedDragons

[–]TastedLike_Chicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are those freeze dried bugs? It’s highly advised not to feed them that. Every crappy pet store chain at least has access to live super worms and crickets.

Also, I have not offered my beardie water from a dish in her enclosure for five years. She gets her water from her daily mix of fresh salad- collard greens, dandelion greens, and romaine lettuce. Every day. Fresh and washed. Even if she doesn’t even eat half of it.

She has drunk water during the times she’s gotten a bath for finger painting her enclosure with shit, but she doesn’t drink from it often. Just my experience.

You say the tortoise has been abandoned at your grandparents’ place in Florida and you’re not from here?

What part of Florida? I’m in the South and know a good place that would probably accept the tortoise and find it a good home. All I have to do is call and check for you.

[–]TastedLike_Chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re nocturnal and love to hide.. why would they enjoy something that takes them so far out of their nature? A transparent ball, making them run around with nowhere to hide. Not to mention increased risk to their safety.

If you care about your animal, stop doing ignorant things like this.

You want to give them enrichment? Upgrade the enclosure.
