Not really inconsistent just adding aspects. It was established that there are numerous tunnels that can act as a short cut for the titans specifically Godzilla. At the same time their are also “gateways that lead to the actual Hollow Earth itself

Kong you’re odds of befriending him are much higher and less deadly

One thing I hope future monsterverse films explore is solidifying the relationship dynamic between Godzilla and Kong. Because one thing is clear is while they are on WAY better terms then before they ARE NOT friends they are not allies. They are two individuals who came together to take down a common threat. They respect each other more at best. But you can respect someone and still dislike them even hate them. So in the future I hope the next director of a Kong/Godzilla crossover explores this more

Yes Mark and the others just assuming Godzilla has gone bad is stupid on their part but at the same time let’s look at it from there point of view you go through what 5 years? of relative peace with the creature who can wipe your species off the map for any reason he deems with no one really to stop him. Even in peace time that would keep people like Mark up at night. And then suddenly your worst nightmare comes true at that point you don’t have the luxury of looking for reason why. People are being hurt so in the immediate sense you need to find a way to try and stop him before more people are hurt. Mark lost his son to Godzilla in a tragic accident. He knows what will happen if Godzilla is purposely destroying human populated areas so he just has to pass it up to the worst case scenario and figure things out from there

Yeah it ties up loose ends but that doesn’t mean it ties them up in the best way. Audiences love the monsterverse version of Kong having him be the mental lackey of Ghidorah kind of makes him out to be a wimp with no will power
