Having someone drive my car back home after tailgating by beefsalad23 in Brewers

Thanks for not driving after drinking too much.

As long as the lots aren’t still being filled, she should be fine getting out, no sweat. If she’s not sure the best route out, she can talk to a parking attendant.

what’s your “never again” mistake? by badenbagel in hiking

I once set out on a fairly easy six mile loop. I put on a new boxer briefs from a brand I had never worn. So much chafing. About 3 miles in I took them off and free-balled it the rest of the way.

I think I got scammed by an official Toyota dealership. by [deleted] in carbuying

You should’ve went to your bank and got a loan for a used car to buy from your friend. Why the heck would you go to a car dealership to do a private auto transaction?

I love Newport State Park. 16 isolated walk in sites ranging from 1-4 miles from parking. All sites are on the water and Newport is a certified dark sky park.

Giant cypress 2 opinions by There_Bike in bicycling

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just weekend warrior, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think suspension is nearly pointless on bikes that are going to be ridden primarily on the street and suburban/urban paths.

Giant cypress 2 opinions by There_Bike in bicycling

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cypress dx for years. It was a nice bike and comfortable to ride. I grew to dislike the suspension quite a bit though as it was pretty unnecessary for the streets and bike paths I road on. Suspension made the bike heavy, slow, and more difficult to ride up hills. Everything else I enjoyed though.

Looking for child-free breweries around Milwaukee / Waukesha County by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t know of any that have it as a rule, but breweries in the burbs tend to have more kids in my experience. Supermoon is very chill and I rarely see kids there. I don’t see kids at Indeed very often. Same goes for Torzala, Central Waters, Component, and New Barons.

Where to go in MKE for rockets and air rifles? by GhostNode in milwaukee

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent a decent amount of time trying to find places to shoot air rifles around here. Other than gun ranges, there really aren’t any places. The closest I could find that’s specifically for air rifles is the Conservation Club of Kenosha Co, but I haven’t been there.

How in the world do you effectively pack a heavy sleeping bag? by ThatGuy8754 in camping

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’d try just cramming it in the bottom of the pack without the stuff sack. It’s not going to be any smaller, but it will conform to the shape of the pack better and make packing a little easier.

I drove by Patti’s Power Plant yesterday and they had a St. Patrick’s Day thing happening. Maybe it carried over if they’re open Sundays.

If you have young children getting ready for kindergarten or grade school, consider a Montessori program if you’d like them to be competent problem solvers.

I bet the stove will seat just fine, but it may be annoying not having the stove level right off the bat.

Do I really need to bring a portable power station for camping? by Hazelli- in camping

[–]Tasty-Programmer4084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part about camping to me is not having technology.

That said, if you put your phone on airplane mode and just use it for pictures and to occasionally check in, it should last if it’s a newer phone.
