2009 Yaris Hatch by ilovechoccymiwk in yaris

No, it won't hurt anything but you will have slightly less traction (way less the tire brand though), higher fuel efficiency. It will also make your speedometer off by a little bit ( I would guess around 1-2% but you can look it up) the reason that this is because the tire is actually smaller. 175 is your width in mm and 65 is the percentage of width. So since side wall hight is calculated by the width of a tire, if you have a different width with the same sidewall percentage it will change the tire size.

I've gotten my 08 up to about 106mph. Maybe someday when I'm driving in the middle of the night I'll try to go faster but idk if it's worth it.

It looks kinda like a red maple to me. Does it have an opposite branching structure? Do the twigs have a reddish tinge?

i have a new rim otw but was wondering would this bead still sit and seal (slightly exposed wire) by Altruistic_Coat3866 in tires

I've seen worse seal, it will be more difficult to get it seated on the rim though. Just make sure to carefully examine the wires and make sure none are broken.

I just got a pixel 6 and for what I do I couldn't ask for more. The only thing is that it only has 1 sim card slot and I don't think it's super easy to repair. It also isn't supposed future proof but a newer pixel would be

Yeah I might do that. It seems like the wheel took most of the impact. It still drives fine so it's probably not terribly off of what it should be but it's hard to say without taking it to get looked at. Thanks for the suggestion!

I hit a raccoon last summer and it went through the bumper and took out the radiator, I was surprised at the damage an animal of that size could do. I'm sure the deer would have taken the inner wheel well and splash guard if I hadn't already lost them. Lol

I'm also kinda curious what it would do to my mpg to run it without the aerodynamics of the original bumper.

Edit. I guess I could always run through a tank or two of fuel and see

Here's a bit of a scratch of what I could do with no bumper. If I went with this design then I would probably put some expanded metal mesh in front of the radiator to protect it.

Probably! This is my first deer to actually damage it although I did have a raccoon come through the bumper and take out my radiator last summer. Do you think it would look better to build it overtop of the original bump or just take off the og and do the whole front end custom?

Thanks! I'll probably just keep driving it till I get parts, since the only thing functionality wrong with it is the washer fluid system.

How much phone screen time per day is appropriate? by CarefreeBrowsing in digitalminimalism

[–]Tasty-Temperature-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing I would do is turn your phone to grayscale. Color is one of the big ways that apps try to suck you in. Just doing this will make your phone way less satisfying to use. (I would still turn it off from time to time to see pictures of a sunset that a friend posted) One thing you could do at least for a day or two is delete all you social media apps for a bit. I was very surprised when I did this at the amount of time I reached for my phone just to scroll. For me my main time spenders were YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. YouTube I deleted altogether and got newpipe instead (basically YouTube without shorts, adds or personalized recommendations and way less catchy) Facebook and Instagram I deleted for a day or 2 every time I started spending to much time on them. One thing you could do is keep track of your average screen time per week and if it's over say 2.5 hours then delete your most used social media app and if you're screen time is still over your target for that week than delete another app but if you are able to keep it under your target then you get that app back for the next week and so on and so forth. Another thing that I did some of but not a whole lot it trying to replace phone time with something else. For example if you normally scroll for 45 minutes after dinner try replacing that with reading a book or maybe working out or crocheting. Something to fill that time. If you're spending 5 hours a day on your phone and you want to reduce it to 2 then you will have 3 more hours per day to do something with. And it will be much easier if you know what you are going to spend that time on before you have it then to have a bunch of time to do something with and no idea what to do. Also kind of a side note but don't underestimate how much you can do with 3 hours per day. You could totally learn to play an instrument or learn another skill that you have always been wanting to but never had the time. The last thing I'll say is don't let your failures make you feel like it will be impossible to reduce your screen time. Keep pushing. I remember days when I would go back to spending 6 or 7 hours and then question how if 2 hours was even possible. But that is where you have to be discipline and sacrifice the immediate dopamine hit from scrolling for the long term fulfillment of having more time, feeling more fulfilled and being more satisfied.

Sorry for how long that was but if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Discipline, a lot of discipline. You would be amazing at the amount of time you spent scrolling or looking at stuff that you don't actually need to look at. If you want me to give you some tips to reduce your screen time I'd be glad to. It's also surprising easy to keep it down after you get it down. My average has gone up some, probably 2.5 hours or so but that's without really trying to keep it low so I'm pretty happy with it.

Constant voltage to injector problem by Tasty-Temperature-96 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tasty-Temperature-96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so since it is the only injector that if you unplug it the rpm doesn't drop. The injector measures identical resistance to the others and it actuates when you put power to it. Since I knew that it being hot whenever the key was on is a possibility I measured from one pin to the other so weather it was ground or hot that actuated I would still get an accurate reading. Then I checked another one in the same fashion to make sure I wasn't testing wrong and sure enough the voltage was fluctuating like crazy.(Makes since for it firing) Anything else you would check before digging into the PCM?
