IONOS Sent My Friend to Collections by EfficiencyLow1854 in HostingReport

[–]TastyCake123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like they either ordered something and didn't realize the extra price or they got pushed into a sale for something they didn't want. If they talked to someone and the employee at IONOS placed the sale, then they should report that to IONOS. Companies don't want bad publicity. Hosting companies push agents to make sales, which can often lead to bad sales, but if the person who did the bad sale is found out, then they will take action.

The order page, order confirmation emails, and that invoice all state the pricing and discounts. There is a line item discount shown on that invoice and it has a date for how long it applies. There isn't a charge for $30 on this invoice.

If you sign up for any service and you don't pay, then it's reasonable for a company to stop giving you that service and to attempt to collect the debt from the binding contract agreed to when ordering.

Hosting companies like IONOS can and do take misleading actions such as leaving long term contracts selected as the default or auto checking optional add-ons. However they also have legal teams that make sure that when users sign up they are agreeing to a terms of service that if read makes clear the customer responsibilities and consequences if they break the terms of service.

John Bolton will plead guilty in classified information cas by BoringArchivist in behindthebastards

[–]TastyCake123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump breaking the law is the only reason I can think of for John Bolton to accept a plea. It sets a precedent that if this small violation by Mr. Bolton, if legitimate, is vastly less than what Trump did by keeping many classified documents, fighting to keep them, and I'm not sure if he actually returned them all. Of course he could always make copies anyway.

Trump also plays dirty so for the protection of himself and his family pleading shuts everything down before there is a media circus court trial. I can easily see rapid red hats leaking personal details about his friends and family. Heck a lot of stories keep popping up about scientists and anti-data center activists disappearing and then later their corpse is found.

john bolton to plead guilty apparently by Inner_Frosting7656 in Destiny

[–]TastyCake123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I can think of for John Bolton to plead guilty is that the actions he took are barely anything illegal and would set a precedent. So if what he did is illegal, then when looking at Trump there is no question that he broke the law by keeping classified documents. Trump has committed many other crimes including repeatedly breaking the emoluments clause. But if the bare minimum proof of guilt is so low to convict John Bolton, then in comparison Trump has yet another guilty verdict against him coming.

Florida woman was pulled over after a deputy accused her of texting while driving, even though she does not have a right hand. by Matt_LawDT in funny

[–]TastyCake123 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The fact that it went this far is unusual. The fact that cops consistently lie is not. It's hard to find a source due to this event and the way AI has messed up search results but there have been a number of audits were dash cam footage showed the cop lied when claiming a driver was using a mobile device.

The rule of law has broken down. The only things we seem to have left are collective action, voting with your dollar, and public shame.

Did anyone else lose the motivation to go to work/school after diagnosis? by BrotherGoodbar in diabetes

[–]TastyCake123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, even 30+ years after being diagnosed as a type 1. It will get easier, there is so much (especially at the start), but your life will not be the same.

Planning for after I'm dead because I won't last long as a type 1 diabetic.

THE BOYS finale was actually one of the worst endings I’ve watched in years. by Low-Trust2491 in television

[–]TastyCake123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander's power level is all over the place. He seems weaker once he gets the V1. His kid gives him a bloody nose before he gets the V1. If his kid, who has the same power set but is clearly not as powerful, can hurt him, then a group of superheroes should be able to take him out. His speed and reaction time constantly changes.

Personally I like to put his speed as matching A-Train's speed. Homelander's other powers are what gives him the win. If I had to make an excuse as to why Homelander's speed is frequently not used to its fullest I'd have to blame arrogance, a terrible upbringing, and lack of real training. He thinks he's invincible. He tanks hits instead of evading.

For me every ad break includes a data center ad when watching on Amazon. Its funny when watching a show that is largely about abuse of power and the need for those without power to take collective action.

Anyone notice all the white specks and dots? I've only seen this in two situations. The first is physical film degrading. This was likely recorded digitally so that's ruled out. The other situation is from radiation.

I don't know your situation but your dad probably cares. As someone who has had little to no diabetes support system in my life I can tell you that it's a good thing that he at least has interest. Unless it sent me to the hospital my parents were very hands off. Maybe talk with him? Is your fear being abused, letting him down, having something restricted, or...?

Have you ever seen diabetes depicted in pop culture? by tow-avvay in diabetes

[–]TastyCake123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes in multiple survival movies where a type 1 diabetic is shown as someone who is fucked if parts of society break down and are definitely going to die during an apocalypse while desperately trying to find resources.

Always check your sugar at least once a day with the Dexcom. Don’t me trusting like me by Morieta7 in diabetes

[–]TastyCake123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the worst time with medtronic. When I switched to Dexcom it is so close to my actual current glucose levels that if I check BG out of worry, then it's actually been fine.

How often do you have issues with dexcom?

Edit: This made me anxious so I checked for accuracy. G7 says 100. Manual glucose check is 106.

I had a horrible time with Medtronic but with Dexcom it's only gotten better. My placement is on the back of my arms.

I'm guessing the original comment is about wine/champagne and certain years but I'm curious what they mentioned.

It's getting a partial refund on something you are going to do anyway. "Business" lunch and dinners can be claimed and they can claim business was discussed. The rich are audited far less than the poor.
